NFSFD judge Alex Pfeiffer and pro drivers Casper Canul, Ben Scwartz and Chris Forsberg have traveled to Puerto Rico for the first ever drifting exhibition there. The event was part of a weekend long event promoted by Famma Events, which took place from January 27th to 29th at Carolina Speedway in San Juan, Puerto Rico.

The existing Long Beach Grand Prix street circuit will officially be the first ever location to feature a drifting competition on actual city streets. On Sunday April 2nd, 2006, 50 of the world’s top drifters will compete in the first Round of the Need for Speed Formula Drift Championship presented by Circuit City. The facility contains seating for 10,000 and will be a fully functional facility similar to the way the Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach will be one week later.

Definite congratulations to Dai on a deserved sponsorship. He's been consistently one of the top competition drifters to watch and while his equipment has not proven lacking against the factories and megateams, it's good that he'll be taking the fight to the front on someone else's dime.

Folks, looking at just the Long Beach weekend Formula Drift is going to be participating in as a COMPETITION SERIES makes me think that this should be the 2006 headline.....
