Center Line, Mich. — Samuel Hubinette, Team Mopar’s star on the Formula D Drift circuit, takes center stage in two new podcasts that recently debuted on Mo-pod.com, Mopar’s podcast and Web site dedicated to videos that showcase the lifestyle and passion of all things Mopar.

The first podcast featuring Hubinette, titled “Drift vs. Grip,” debuted on the site last week. The newest offering, “The Best Birthday Present,” was posted yesterday. Archives of podcasts featuring Hubinette can be found under the Xtreme section of www.mo-pod.com.

    Info on the Hubinette Podcasts

The “Drift vs. Grip” podcast offers behind-the-scenes footage from the “Mopar® D1 All-Star Duel presented by ShiftIntoGear” drifting exhibition, held at Irwindale Speedway on Aug. 31. The event saw NASCAR stars such as Kasey Kahne, Bill Elliott, Matt Kenseth and Greg Biffle get their first taste of drifting, with the help of Hubinette and fellow drifting stars including Rhys Millen, Tanner Foust and Vaughn Gittin Jr.

Kahne took the wheel of Hubinette’s Mopar Dodge Viper SRT10 and laid down some impressive runs in front of the packed Irwindale crowd, which saw the first meeting between NASCAR stars and drifters. Hubinette also took part in the exhibition, as all the drifters on hand joined forces for a jaw-dropping, eight-man drift that left the crowd roaring and the track covered in tire smoke. Proceeds from the event benefited the Kasey Kahne Foundation.

“The Best Birthday Present” podcast, which premiered on www.mo-pod.com on October 9, covers Hubinette’s Round 6 Formula D Drift win at New Jersey’s Air Force Reserve Wall Speedway in September. The video shows Hubinette in the pits with his NuFormz Racing team, signing autographs, and celebrating his third win of the season in victory lane. The podcast ends with Hubinette getting a birthday “present” that fans won’t want to miss!

    About DaimlerChrysler’s Mopar Brand

When Chrysler bought Dodge in 1928, the need for a dedicated parts supplier led to the formation of the Chrysler Motor Parts Division. In 1937, Mopar (a simple contraction of the words MOtor and PARts) was created for the business of distributing parts through a depot system and car divisional wholesalers.

Mopar made its mark in the 1960s—the muscle car era. Beginning in 1962, Mopar carried a line of “Special Parts” for super stock drag racers and developed its racing parts division called Mopar Performance Parts to enhance speed and handling for both road and racing use.

Today, the Chrysler Group’s Global Service & Parts division is responsible for the manufacturing and distribution of nearly 250,000 authentic Mopar replacement parts, components and accessories for Chrysler, Jeep® and Dodge vehicles sold around the world. To assure quality, reliability and durability, all Mopar parts and accessories are designed in strict adherence to DaimlerChrysler engineering standards.
