  • JIC Magic Porsche 911 GT2 Press Release

    April 8, 2008
LONG BEACH, CA - Media Day in Long Beach marks the beginning of the 2008 Season of Formula Drift, which also marked the unveiling of the Newly Redesigned 2008 JIC Magic/Hankook Tire Drift Spec Porsche 911 GT2 RS, and it's second year of competition. Along with a new variation on the paint and vinyl scheme, this new Porsche has been redesigned pushing out more power and more angle than ever before. Today the JIC Magic/Hankook Tire Porsche took to the course, in its first runs of the season. The 911 GT2 performed flawlessly as Tyler took stride during his four practice sessions. After a successful season last year, 2008 looks to be even better, with our 2008 Spec Porsche 911 GT2.

        Very nice.

I want to see someone modify a 930 based RUF yellowbird to be in the Formula Drift series.

Which makes me wonder why people have not used Corvettes, Aston Martins, and Mercedes SL's. There is already a few people driving the Dodge Viper in the American drift series.

If you would pay attention you would know that conrad grunwald is running a very awesome RED C5 corvette and that Ryan hampton was running a C5 Zo6 for a while. Mercedes SL's are garbage in no way would that be a good choice (I used to be a mercedes tech) I dont know about Astons but they are very expensive.

Can you back up your claim about how the Mercedes SL cars are "absolute crap"? I just need something solid to say to my friend who is an avid Mercedes Benz fan and would not stop telling me about the quality and stability of their cars. Especially about how the 190e was among the best cars in the world.

I just hope he never has to have an evaporator changed out in his wonderful SL and if he does that he can do it himself otherwise hes gonna be charged 27hour labor at his local dealership at $100ish an hour plus the overpriced parts. And since all SL's before the 230 need to have their evaporaters replaced about every 5-6 years

Trust me I've been behind the scenes on benz and they are generally junk unless you buy an AMG

The interior's of 170 SLK's just wear away with normals use in only 3 years, the door handles of 203 C classes just break off after 3 years (They all do it) The 3rd brake light houseings on 209 CLK's break when you close the trunk to many times. the 163 ML is basically a piece of crap all the way around.
203 C class evaporators deteriorate and smell like old socks after 2 years

I could go on and on and on

What about the Fifth Gear test on the old E class estate?

My brother has a c240, and it can stand up pretty well.

But that sounds horrible, what happen to all that legendary "Deutch Build Quality"?

Good thing I am a Bimmer man anyways when it comes to sports sedans and Gran Touring. Either that or Aston Martin for Gran Touring, but I generally like "one track" sports cars.
