  • inbetween a rock and a hard place....

Well a friend of a friend of mine is now selling his 2002 Scooby WRX with only 38741 miles on it. (He needs a truck). From what I hear, Its been babied and the only mod on it are new floor mats and an airfreshner. hes letting this thing go for only 17grand. This is a great deal cause most WRXs I know of have had the *Censored**Censored**Censored**Censored* driven outta them with alot more mileage. Since Im more into touge right now the WRX would be great for that and I can get it alot faster and to handle better for cheaper than the 240sx(though dont get it mixed up I still luv the S14 dearly). but I also understand the 240sx is good for touge the drifting once I get more into it. I can sell my 240sx and this '95 Escort GT in mah driveway and get the WRX plus, about 2 grand left over. Should I or not? I dunno if Ill see another deal like this.

    sry if sooo long

Uh I don't see how you can get that thing faster and handle better for less money than the car you already own. That makes zero sense. Especially if your car is already semi set up. You might want to rethink that.

Let's see. Your car is decently modded according to your sig. So stick another 6 grand in that and you got a car that will handle right along with that stock scoob.

Now the scoob. 17k!!!! you have already blown your budget there. It's stock as well. So you get to spend another 4k to get your suspension set up right.

Put your money into that 240. It will be just as good a Touge machine as that scoob with the right mods.

I was saying that compared to how much I was putting into my 240. I could have the same $ put into the scooby and make it faster.(took a whole day searching online and through cats. and calculated prices for the mods I would get for it in stages.)

I just think its funny that he apologised for the length of the post but look at his sig. I hate telling ppl what to get, cuz only you will know what you want. If its your friends car, Im sure he has/will/would let you drive it. So which car feels right? I like WReXes but I have an S14. Not a 98 SE tho. Let us know what you do.

As a matta-o-factly Hes gonna hand over the keys to me(In exchange for the S14 ) tomorrow so I get to beat the sh1t out of that thing,as Chas nicely put it, till Saturday then give it bak. I'll base my conclusion on that. I really luv the look of the Scooby GDB, but I luv the S14a look just as much. I wish I could have both but unless I can become a great Broker w/o a college degree and start pullin in 90k a year I dont think its gonna happen(Even if I dont get the Scooby now as soon as I become a broker Ima go out and search for that black GDB)
