  • (PREDICTIONS) FORMULA DRIFT SONOMA September 10-11, 2010

Why doesnt anyone ever make prediction threads anymore? lol

    Top 4 (no particular order):

Tony Brakohiapa (Hometown boy on a roll)

Ken Gushi (always does good on this track)

Stephan Verdier (won last year, must podium to stay relevant in the series)

Chris Forsberg (has a win under his belt on this course, he needs to get in the top 5 overall when the season is over, anything less looks horrible for a champion in his position)

    Honorable mentions/Wild Card

Robbie Nishida (if the GTR is ready, Robbie can and will rip it)

Dennis Mertzanis (hard work always pays off, and the guy works hard)

That's what Fantasy Drift is for!

I need Forsberg to qualify low, run a few OMT's, and win the event.

I also want to see Aasbo do well again (although I don't think this type of course is going to cater to his skills compared to other courses).

Dai vs Jr in the finals. Dai wins, Gittin retains points lead.

Don't worry Steph, you have done more than enough to earn respect and be relevant despite a podium finish or not at Sonoma. That doesn't mean we don't want to see you rip it up though!

As of the writing of this post Tyler McQuarrie has qualified first and I think he will follow up his Vegas win at his home track. I predict Dai Yoshihara will come second and Fredric Aasbo will come third.

          1. McQuarrie
          2. Yoshihara
          3. Aasbo

Some trivia - No driver who has qualified first or 2nd has won an event this year. Rhys qualified first in Long Beach and placed 2nd overall, but he's the only one of the top-2 qualifiers at any event to even reach the final 4!

I feel pretty good, 3 of my 4 Fantasy drivers qualified in the top 10 (Forsberg, Hubinette, and Aasbo). I think all of them are a threat to hit a podium!
