              For spec's:

              http://www.autotrader.com/research/c...l?restype=used

A friend of mine had a T-bird SC - awesome! Watch for faulty wiring and make sure that it has been to the recalls (or do it yourself). There was something wrong with some wiring somewhere which caused them to catch fire... not good. Besides that, I would suggest a SC for all around use.

You're talking about older cars so you're going to run into some problems. Availibility will be an issue with the Corolla, VR-4 and unmolested FC (also with a rotary that has had it's oil changed regurlarly - KEY!).

The 240 is the civic of drifting, so parts and support will be plentiful, but unless you're a modifying maniac good luck with carrying any sort of identity with the car.

                +1 to the post count...

...You could always explore the other options:
                3rd Gen F-body
                Fox Mustang
                Miata
                Subaru Legacy Turbo / Impreza
                Mitsubishi Starion / Conquest
                C4 Corvette
GM A/G body (Monte Carlo, Regal T-type, Gran National, Caprice)
                1st or 2nd gen MR2
                Toyota Cressida
Mk II Supra (or Mk III if you know how diet a car)
                Volvo 240
                Porsche 944

...If you want a project car that could be a decent drift car and satisfy a need to wrench:
                Geo Tracker / Sidekick
                Tocoma / B-series pickup / Mighty Max
                GMC Sonoma / S-10
Datsun 510 / pre-AE86 Corolla (if you can find one)
...and the mother of all economy cars:
                CHEVY CHEVETTE !!!

How mugh bread you got to spend? How's your driving record? Insurance? duties of the car?

well, i want the car for all around use....drag, drift, cruise etc. i dont really like drag, but thats all that people do....so i wanna kick civic a$$. i can get a car around 7g's...tops....
im only 16 and ive never had a ticket, my insurance record is good (its only 65 a month for the escort) so thats not a problem.
The all around cars i like are the T-Bird SC or the Galant vr4. but they are RARE. A corolla would be nice, but they are small.
I want FR or MR or AWD tho. Mr2's are small, but i do like them, especially with some nice advans...but then again everything looks good with advans....
it is hard to find an FC with low miles, and the rotary engine isnt stable, i dont think i would trust it unless i knew the driver personally and knew what they have done to it. 240's are getting too popular, i want something that nobody else has or that you dont really see that much....but the galant vr4 is too rare to find.
i dont know, i change my mind every day so we'll se when the time comes. thanks for the advice and keep it commin

none taken. I, personally thought they looked like FC's. How bout an early 90's Mustang?

i was thinkin about that....but there are so many mustangs. i could spend 5 g's on droppin the mustang 5.0 engine in my escort. but then i have to get a new tranny, new drivetrain and reinforce the chasis. its not really woth the time, although it would run low 13's.

yeah, plus they make a ton of parts for it. and you could find one cheap. OR, you could buy a Ford Focus. Rumor has it there's a kit coming out this summer to change it from FWD to RWD.
