ive been reading around and every now and then i come across a few people who have found themselves some HOT AS5 deals on there rides. personaly i havent come across anything realy worth mentioning.

i was wondering.. what kind of good or lucky deals have you guys encountered or have heard of and where'd you find out about it?

meh...our cars weren't necessarily good deals...they were just ghetto cheap

my first car, purchased Dec. 1997: a 1986 Mustang V6 4MT for $1000...previous owner literally pulled it out of the barn and put a 'for sale' sign on it. it woulda remained in good running condition if I hadn't 'drifted' it into ditches like 5 different times

my brother's first car, purchased Sep. 1999: a 1987 RX-7 GXL 5MT for $1500...it was burning oil and the car lasted 110k miles before the engine died (11k miles of which was driven by my brother)

my other brother's first and current car, purchased July 2003: a 1989 240SX coupe 5MT for $1800...car remains in good mechanical condition, but the paint job looks a lil sh!tty...we lucked out on this one...all the other S13's we called for were already sold and most of em were more than $2000 with over 200k miles on the odo

i ofund a 1st gen rx-7 in the local merchandiser for 500 obo...

i bargained the guy down to 200 bucks...

it needs a clutch kit, some paint(stock is faded to white..from black).


good deal i think considering the blue book value is 600 in very poor condition

'90 Turbo Legacy Wagon (only one in existence that I know of) was had for a cool $3k a few years ago.

If I were to have bought a Legacy L and swapped in the motor it would have cost around $10k for everything.
