teh 88-91 prelude is something you wanna stay away from. lots of random problems i have seen on these cars.

97-01 prelude are nice. but pricey. afaik no major problems to look for in those. just dont go buy a huge turbo for it it will be fine.

celicas i dont know about

s13 look for
oil leaks
ticking from valve cover (timing chains go out)
rust in trunk / rear wheelwell/floorboard area
HUD digital speedo tends to go out if you find one with these

single cam is good for a basic motor, if you wanna do turbo get a twin-cam ka model. the sr20 is a good motor, however with prices today its overrated unless you get an insane deal on a complete motorset. you can get most the parts at oriellys off of usdm sr but you have to know what your doing.

imo the s13 right now is getting hard to find. and there is darned good reason why. but do some research, and just be careful. dont try to drift on the street after you put it and wrap it around a tree.

if you wanna get into drifting they have legal sanctioned events for reasons.
