usually tighter radius turns that come around 180 degrees give or take are usually referred to as hairpins.
actually its a long straight followed by a sharp decreasing radius U and then followed by a series of esses or chicanes. Drawn out it looks just like a hairpin. J/p

I think I'm faster when I drive normal-apex style. When I try to drive late apex, it's a lot safer, but it slows me down a lot.

ooooooooo....now its makin sense. i was kinda thinkin it was slight consecutive turns like the curvy grooves on a hairpin, but when i thuoght about it, it didnt make too much sense. thanx.
