Tire choices?

Anyone know about 4 good (and decently cheap) tires for drifting. I know you can use just about anything for the rears if you have enough torque, but anyone got a recommendation?

I'm currently using 205/55/16 kumho V700's for the front and 225/50/16 Firestone GW50X's for the rears. I have no problem lighting the firestones up, but they aren't as predictable as I would like. I have a set of v700's for the rear and didn't have much trouble drifting in those, but they wear too fast for drifting.

I like www.tirerack.com when looking for tires, decent prices too. They have tons of user reviews so you can fine tune what you're looking for. I normally look for a good tire with lots of traction for normal driving, but you can work the opposite way too. Look for something with low traction and a looooong life. You might be able to try the lifetime warrantee ones or like some 100,000 mile or 80,000 mile tires. Look at the temp ratings as well. I assume the higher the rating, the better it can handle heat build up. Goodyear Aquatread is like a AA temp rating. They may no burn up very fast. Not sure, I haven't tried any. It might be something to check out. I'm not sure how they'd put up with constant tire spinning. Lol bring them back in a week when you wear them out and ask for a refund, lol. 100,000 miles my *Censored**Censored**Censored*! haha.

www.tirerack.com is also a great site, one note on the tire rating AA would not be good for burnouts, tires that can handle heat are the performance ones you'll find on that site, VR is the best as far as heat i think they're rated to 180mph and HR is rated to 150 mph, i think this is about right, anyway they'll tell you if you click the tire description

www.tirerack.com has just about everything needed to build a mild touge or mild drift car, they sell suspension and brakes, not to metion tires and wheels. If your running a true to track race car then maybe that site isnt your venue, but if it is, that site is like a wal-mart for cars, everything you need in one...

I've had good results in the rear with BF Goodrich Comp T/A's and Goodyear Eagle GT II's. With the right tire pressure, they wear completely even, very predictable, and good ammounts of smoke on throttle. Only junk thing is the Eagle GT II's are being discontinued in about 2 months, so I gotta make an order for like 20 or something hahah.

azenis silent sports (azenis st105 think thats what theyre called in the states) in the front GRID2 or trampos in the rear) everyone thinks that you can put any crap tires on the rear its fine, but if you actually drift with a set of decent tires the rear its a lot more controlable

People who are new to drifting should worry about the treadwear ratings more than temperature and grip. The treadwear rating is the xxxR written on the sidewall. The higher it goes, the harder the compound, the better the wear. Don't forget that the harder the compound, the tire has much less grip. When you're new to drifting, you need to be able to slide as easily as possible; when you get better, upgrade to grippier tires. You should run grippier tires up front than out back to help you better control your slides.
For drifting, I would recommend tires with a minimum treadwear of 300. I wrote a post on zilvia.net with almost every 15-inch tire (up to 215-section-width) covered. Hopefully, you can pick out a few tires that you like and see if they come in your size. Here's the list:
