He fell just short. He was #33 with a 0 on his second run and a 40-something on his first.

It might have been car trouble the first run as he bobbled a lot and lost drift in the middle of the course.

The second time the judges just got strict with him as he made a mistake in the hairpin.

Honestly comparing the two runs if anything I would have given the first run a 0 and scored the second one. That might not nessasarily have gotten him in but despite the hairpin mistake his 2nd run was a hell of a lot better than his first.

Well that was some bs. Who knew you could win by out pacing drivers that are throwing monster angle and smoke?

I'm a bit biased but I was there and I disagree.

Maybe its the camera angles the driftstream uses....

I just don't see it. He spins against Dai and gets a omt. Doesn't flick as aggressive, doesn't hit as much of angle and doesn't get as close to the wall, but because his pace is faster he wins?

He stalled.... consider that Dais was essentially the fastest driver the whole weekend throughout both speed zones. With that consider the +/- 5MPH rule, also consider that Dais car is very different then JTPs and cant move around the track exactly the same. The first decision could have gone either way, iirc it wasn't unanimous.... but I do believe JTP won the OMT set battles. Good performance by both, all top 4 finishers deserved to be there in some order.

Tony talks about the OMT decision @ 6:00

I honestly thought overall all of Otto's runs chase and follow were a bit dolt in comparison of his competitors and most of the other drivers we saw this weekend. But I would have given a slight edge toward Otto. But remember back in the day when they did the judging by points if the decision was with 1 point it was automatic OMT.
