Yeah GT3 is DA BOMB. For now it's the only drift practice I've got till I can buy me a 5.0. My first love is drifting my Camaro SS on trial mountain. It went from a buget project to a 445 hp machine, and when I get it right I can side it all the way round that long turn at Apricot hill and the all 3 long turns at midfield. Same for the Z06. I'm slowly getting the hang of it cause it spins out little easier. My favorite trick is on Midfield reversed in the Z06. 130mph feint into a 100mph braking drift through the first turn and get reeled back in to drift the second turn. Then Drift the 2 long corners.

Other favorites.
1. Drifting the MR2 all the way through Apricot's 1rst turn.
2. Actully getting the XR8 to drift.
3. High speed drifts in the Cobra and V8 Vanquish.
4. Being able to drift the Camaro SS consistenly around Trial mountain without spinning.

Current Projects
240sx Type X with Koguchi's setup from Drifting Magazine!!
Future Projects
Drift the GT40 Race Car!!

I do all my drifting with Sim Tires, TCS and ASM off, Sim steering setting. Plus I keep all my cars realisitic: Stage one or 2 turbos/ Stage 1 NA tune up, no weight reduction and I try to stay in the range of suspension settings I read in Driftng Magazine.

This thread is a great guys keep it alive!!

Personally I like putting sport tires all around teh whole car. It makes the car very balanced and also allows you to do some long smokey (well as smokey as GT3 will let you) slides. Also when you connect drifts its very smooth.

since we're on the topic of gt3, i jes went to my first drift event and checked out the cars in the pits. i goto check there wheels and it turns out that there camber looks stock. i half expected that there wheels would sport extreme negative camber due to the drifting they had just done, but the camber looked stock. so now i'm wonderin, do you really need extreme camber to drift (gt3 vs IRL).

Well if you run too much camber you can wear out the tires, and too much rear camber can make it harder to drift, as well as make the car understeer when gripping. Alot of drifters are on a budget and have to drive their car all the time so they keep their suspension settings where the car won't wear out the tires when they are driving normally.

WoW i do have to much time on my hands...
i can drift the whole first turn with a stock AE86 with sim and keep the rear tire on the outer line then keep the rear spining untell i get to the right hand turn then i kick out the back finish the turn and keep the tires spining into the left hand turn and so on and so forth in to the right hand turn. So far i beat every one that challenges me(this is on apercot).
The first car i learnd how to drift in was the Evo 6
I like racing my brother on trile montin and was to touge battles by only staying in one lane so far im the only one that can drift in one line(that i know of)and we do it like the one on best motering i get the balinced car with 200hp and he gets the strong 3 to 400 hp carz but he wins sumtimes
I want to post my vidos on lline but i dont know how

Hmm i dont really use the E-break i can do all the drift styles but not like im braging or anything but i have done dirt drop, crub hop, power over, swaydrifting, fait drift, break dirft,E-break (but its not fun beacause i slows me down to much)(no shift lock tho)kensei drift and i change my style if im losing to to get faster thru the turns and not show off to much(speed drift and show drift the diff is a -7sec on my lap time with speed drift)o and i drifted all the japanese carz(ff, fr, awd) so if u play as much as me u kinda get bord of it but for somereson i keep playing. i cant wait till GT4 comes out so i can drift on line and see how good the other drifterz r out there.

those are the vids. people have told me those videos are great(the drifting, not the quality hehe). hope you like them and watch all three. BTW, those were battle videos and I won all 3 battles. I average about a 27-28 out of a possible 30.

rock.

* = I'm French Canadian, so I'm required by law to say "aboot" at least once a day.

** = this was my 1st time drifting with sims because it was a requiriment of the battle. the guy challenged me and made a stipulation that both participants use sims all around. he was an accomplished sims drifter, been using sims since he started, and I still won even though it was my first time using sims since I started drifting in GT3. I made a 27 and he made a 25.5. everyone was like, "woah". sorta surprised I won. but w/e.

Have u goten good enughf to long slide and keep your tire on the out side white line yet?
I can do that but i dont know how to put my video on the comp to show u guyz. u should see me and my brother battle, we can twin drift with two RX7's or NSX's or the S-15.
we even have a videos of us 4weel twin driftin with all of the evolutions.
i know what your thinking, your probly thinking we just drift behind eachother but we get bumber to bumber.
Its pretty cool.
How do i post my vids?

you talking aboot* feint drifting? or manji? I do that, I don't do it for my videos. I like it when it is on the proper line, it gives it a nice clean smooth look. but it is just personal opinion.

heh yeah...uh lets see e-brake usage huh? uhm how about Complex String? you know where the got the right angle turns? that go 90 degrees? well i usually use e-brake fall to second gear and floor it on all the turns right there...then they got those SICK hair pins its so much fun going through the hair pins and playing with the gas while drifting...

I have the 240sx Fastback Type X im running at 469 HP Stock Setup accept for ASM 0/ Traction Control at 1 XD heheh..also i got Mediums in the front and Sims in the back..i dont know about this camber angle and toe angle stuff so if anyone wants to explain holler at me!

Anyway i like Apricot Hill alot to, its got the insane Hairpins that i crave...

Laguna Seca first turn 3rd gear..i execute drift quite early but its kind of hard, and to the left you see the pitstop i almost hit the barrier thing its so hott when i drift, its where i start to feint drift too so it looks sick as hell..

Also if anyone else is able to play with the gas and know how to control there car, tell me how much fun you have when you go through the hair pins and the S turns XD..

oh this was fun to i hopped over to Swiss Alps with the Type X got the Dirt racing tires of course, and i think i got 1'34 or something and i was goofing around too, lol thats some funny *Censored**Censored**Censored**Censored*...

go get a silvia k s13 1800cc..leave the engine completely stock

just do tires, suspension, and drivetrain...

usually be able to drift in 4th gear over 50 mph i think that is what it was

and then like 20+ second gear...

oo and i saw your videos, very awesome, yes you are better than me on tokyo Tokyo R246 II...but then again i haven't really practice...

you practice alot anyone can tell just by watching your first few drifts...very nice on how well you know that track, good plan man...

but i usally just do what comes to me, not really in competition just to pull the sickest drifts, but i havent really tried to do sequential type *Censored**Censored**Censored**Censored* like your doing

oh i probably didnt mention but i use Meds in the front Sims in the back i have abs off and tcs on level 1..therefore i drift with skill and it looks really nice...XD

You guys need lives. Toki, nobody cares how great you are at GT3. If you're as great as you say, which would be sad, I suggest you put the controller down and pick up a grammar book.

^ I wasn't really directing that at you, hell, that's all there is to do around here some days. I was mostly directing that at Toki who seems to be tooting the hell out of his horn like he's going to win something.

try using racing compound tires on a car on all 4 wheels of the same strength then drifting it. as for drifting stock cars. I can drift them COMPLETELY stock, no power additives, diffrent tires, or any other modifications. but thats just me.
