I thought it went pretty well. The week started out with alot of politics from D1, but the competition side I felt was fair. The only thing that would have been nice is if they figured out who was 3rd and 4th, It would have been nice to see rhys as a 3rd place finisher rather then just semi finalist.

i've heard good things about spl suspension parts. What do you thnik about them as a master suspension parts maker? i'd rather have battle version, but lots of people are raving about them.
thanks

Take a look at the SPL parts and then look for NAMS suspension parts. They are the same low quality parts coming from taiwan/china area. Yes they bolt on, yes they work for the most part.

The majority of americans are cheep, and they buy just that, the cheepest parts they can get. There is a difference in quality and most of all, there is a difference in who you choose to spend your money with. Giving your money to someone in china, or keeping you money in the USA. There is a reason why the US dollar sucks right now.

Alex-
It was good meeting you (again) on Saturday. Jay and I triedf to get the whole VIP section cheering for you during your runs, but everyone was too cold and lazy. But hey, we tried!

Great job out there and I'll be calling you after the new year for more AE86 and S13 parts.

I was definitely disappointed that they had to rush everything towards the end because the track was closing. I agree that it would've been nice to see 3rd/4th, but it probably wasn't even possible with the time constraints.

Thanks for posing for me as I walked by. Heres a couple pictures from the event.

Anyway will a 4agze fit into my 85 GTS, as far as tranny and computer wise. I recently blew my 4age up, and am having difficulty finding another..... having trouble finding any parts for my car here in Idaho...... man I miss California

how did you blow a 4age???
was there oil and water in it???
about the only way i thought you could kill these motors was to run it out of one or both of these fluids.
a 4agze is exactly the same block as a 4age so it will bolt in but you'll have to change the loom and computer to suit.

I'd like to go up to canada but i dont think i can afford it.

Kelten,
Yeah, it will bolt in but your going to have to mod a few things to get it to work properly. Like the intercooler piping, wire harness and water hoses.

Hey Max,
Naw, sam's shell went bye bye. Only my car left in there. I'll make it run again one day. I was thinking of heading up north for new years but im not sure, we may have to go to a party down here.

Jason told me you put a clutch i sent him in his car.
Hhahaha did you like that zero mile break in?
I got one here one the self waiting for you if you ever decide to pick it up.

Some one told me that drifting was played out.
What do you think about comments like that?

I told him it probably only seems that way becuase the mags only interview the same guys over and over, and that if there was more new faces it would not seem "played out"

I also wanted to ask if you are gonna get back into auto x'ing?
I remeber you, roy, herman, and jeff were regulars up here.

Ja mata~

I havent put in any of your clutches but i did get to feel one. To me the presure plate is too soft.

It is kinda getting played out in LA but to the rest of the country, they still havent had enough events for it to even begin yet.

auto X, never, total waste of time and money.

thanks Alex

Thanks for the info. I blew my 4AGE up mainly through a hard life and old age.... I had an oil leak that I couldn't locate, so it developed a rod nock....... So the 4AGZE will work with my tranny, cool..... you mentioned intercooler pipes, does this mean the 4AGZE has a turbo option.....
I'm looking hard for a new engine but here in Idaho the AE86 is hard to find parts for, but a freind of mine knows where a 4AGZE is.....

Many thanks for the reponses...

Hey alex i got 3 Questions for you

In past pages yo9u replied that you used your own coilover system, but on driftday.com it says that you used TRD race shocks and springs (8and9kg). what were the differences between the two? was there a big price difference for you?

What was the entire spec of your corolla when it was in 'good' condition?

and last but not least... what did you get for your holiday season? lol.

please reply!

For you, you will probably be getting a 4agze out of a mr2, and that thing has an intercooler mounted on top of the motor. So you have to do some intake pipe making and move it to a front mount in the corolla. I also suggest not to use the stock intercooler that comes on the motor but some other better one.

ONtheROADagain
driftday.com is wrong. I've never had trd shocks on any of my cars. But i do like them alot more then the HTS's i have now. Yes the TRD shocks are more expencive but they are well worth it if you want the best track setup.
My corolla was never running right, its been a work in progress and i have never been "happy" with its setup.
I got a watch, a cd, and a shirt from my GF for Xmas. My parents sent me some money but im not going to cash the check they sent. They have already given me too much.

sdtouge,
Yeah, i should be there. Dont listen to the people who say you get understeer with a diff. That only happens if your drive the wrong way. So if they did it, they basicly dont drive well and you shouldnt take advice from bad drivers.

Alex!
Whats Up man...
Well I've been thinking lately of my engine...Im running a AE92 Bottom w/ 10:7 Compression pistons , 81mm over bore, 7-rib, oil squirters...and a AE86 head...PaceSetter headers, Custom air filter setup...I was thinking if I could be competitive w/ this setup, or a stock AE92 engine...I can get a 20v BlackTop for a really good price but I dont want to go thru the trouble and I really like the 16v...If I run the setup I have now would I be able to be competitive enough, I might run ITB's on it later on and some cams...but right now I would like to know a more experienced drivers thoughts...I know the 16v has good potential, since you Ueo has a 16v but I dont want to spend 15k on building the engine...My suspension is setup already and Im happy with it...I just need to keep practicing but I would like to know if I would be able to get far with this engine...I was gonna put higher compression pistons but since its also one of my daily I didnt want to do that...I have a GZE but plan on putting it in my dads ae86 and he has more of a street setup and he doesn't really like me drifting his car hahaha...Well I would like to hear your opinion on this I might of confused you so I dunno hahaha...

Peace,

Hey alex have you ever ridden in an ae86 with a 20v. if so what were your impressions on it? and why did you choose to turbocharge your car instead of keeping the 16v or putting in the 20v?
