bringing the post back up from the dead.
The Tanaka Racing Vette got a make over for FD this year. New hood, front fenders, quarter panels, re did the front bumper, and a new wrap. Unfortunatly we broke the motor over in long beach and its currently apart. FD ATL is coming up in a week and since the Tanaka Racing Vette isn't going to make it and I really want to drive ATL again, the Lexy will be making the trip out. |

I'm helping build an AE86 for out local events. The owner wants to run dual rear calipers, a separate one for the hydraulic e-brake. I'm trying to either source a physical bracket, or CAD drawing to be laser cut/cnc'd. I've sent Taka a message and will be talking to a few others out here in Vegas about this. If you know and/or could point me in the right direction, I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you.

You can drill it out by hand. Just take off the stock caliper bracket and mark the holes, then figure out where you want to put the other one and take the same thickness plate and just cut it out. That center big hole doesnt matter too much.

Sorry I havent given much updates on this thread. Just got back from an epic canada trip. Saw F1 and stayed out there till DMCC. The lexy has some body damage after a few events like every drift car gets. Its up for sale as is $45k. The Tanaka Vette has a new motor built but isnt in the car or tuned yet. New rad setup on it so we are hoping to have things back together and tested before seattle FD.

I still have my hot rod. The lotus 7 replica thing and the 180. Daily is the truck. I'm really selling the lexy cause i want a house. I've been doing this stuff for a while and know if I dont make sure my stuff at home is taken care of, my stuff on the road will get out of hand. I used the money I saved up to buy a house to build that lexus. I'm not going to be happy seeing it in someone elses garage but it would put the money back in my pocket so I can have my own garage. Cars come and go. There are more important things in life than your car.

Wise words bro, can't wait for the house warming party. Saving for a house is the same stage I am in.

Alex - if you want some feedback on the housing market, feel free to drop me a line. We bought in December, and faced a lot of obstacles before we got into the place we have now.
It's a huge commitment, but also an extremely rewarding one

My main problem right now is I dont have the time to buy. Just been too busy to spend time looking at houses and getting the loan thing down.

Hey Alex, this is Gabe, I came down to your place a few months back to get a peice of a front tension rod for my S14, It was a super wide grey primer s14, Thought you might remember,
I was curious what you think about the phraze, "you can never have too much power" I have been Eye balling a car that has 706 hp 741tq, (turbo Ls1 S14), from blu808, and have been told from other drift friends that the car is trouble because it will never have enough grip, due to the enormous torque. would running much wider rims and larger tires help with the issue at all? whats your pov on this? I have seen many cars that have 700hp but in this specific case I beleive the problem is the torque |

Hmm that sounds like it has 100rwhp and 100ftlbs on the vette.
What size tires are on it now? great question for Alex. |

Making a good drift car means making a ballanced car. 3 main things need to be in ballance, how much the car weighs, how much traction your tires have, and how much hp you got.
Having more hp then your tires can handle makes it easier to keep the car in drift but it also means that when you are spinning the tires, your usually spinning them too much and wont get up to speed. Good for amature stuff cause going slow is fine. Also a big waste of tires if your the one buying them.
