  • No SPARK on my SR20DET

Hi everyone. I know everyone says this, but I am in dire need of some help. I just swapped an SR20DET into a 1992 240SX and can not get any spark. I have tried everything. I have gone to every Web-site, asked every mechanic-type I know and even tried to contact the place where I got my front clip from, but I have found no answers. I turn to all of you only as a last attempt before I drown my sarrows in deep-fried fatty foods and Starbucks.

I did swap the 3 SR plugs next to the battery for the 2 off the KA harness and made double sure all the colors matched. Yes, the Black/Red and Blue/Red are wired to the Black/Red lead at the Molex plug. I did put the igniter in its place (although not at first because I didn't know what it was and none of the swap pages talk about it or show any pics).

My latest thing was to install the small SR starter harness in place of the KA harness I put on the SR20DET originally (I swear I read to do that, but can not find where I read it now). This did nothing but allow me to plug one more Molex plug into the fuse box. It also offered up two more tranny plugs.

I did make an adapter for the white Molex plug that hangs just past the blue ECU plug. It runs up the dash a few inches to a brown Molex plug. All the wires are color to color with the exception of two on each plug that do not match up with anything--I just capped them off.

Finally I did test for voltage at the coil packs. As far as I can tell they are getting power.

So Can anyone help me out? Point me in the right direction? Send me some Miguel's Jr. from the Southern California area?!?

Is the Ignitor chip working? you should check it on another SR20DET to see if it does or not. If you need a new one go to a junkyard and find a Infinity Q45 for one (they use 2 chips) its the same exact part number as the one from the SR, or you can just go and get a new one from somewhere make sure you say Q45 and not SR20DET haha...hope that little peice of info will help at all...
