  • Drifting in parking lots

This also may be a stupid question, but here goes:

Is it illegal to drift in a parking lot?
If so, where is the best place outside of a drift track (none around me) to practice? I'm talking about daily practicing. Where do cops come in? How much could you get fined for being caught practicing in a parking lot?

Ok, alot of questions i know, but i need to find somewhere to practice often. Thanx for the help.

It is illeagle to drift in a parking lot, unless you have permission to, or its your parking lot.

Other people get to answer your other questions.

find your place...sit there examine it for a few nights..see if its really populated...play loud music see if attracts anyone...go ahead drift...you might still get cought, dont tell anyone about your place...and keep coming and checking around before you drift..you should be fine..and yes its illegal theres a post about it up about some kid accidently drifting in his school he is going to court to talk about it ...go ahead talk to him..

Hell go check with the police. Ask them what you need to do to make it legal. In some states it's as easy as coning off a parking lot so that the general public can't come in. If you really want to know what's illegal, go to the people that know it best.

If you have permission to do it from the owner of the lot, I wouldnt see why you can't do it with no hassle.

Once again, check with the source. Cops can be your friends if you aren't stupid. If you can do things by the law and cops get to know you as being by the law, they are actualy friendly people and are excited to talk about your car and you sport. But, do something stupid and they will turn on you like rabid dogs.

Just play it smart. There is no such thing as a stupid question unless it isn't asked or asked a thousand times.

Think of cops like you think of your Granndfather. If you show some interest in the things you Grandpa does then doors will open and he will help you. Same thing with cops.
