  • NEW SKYLINE GTR Spotted in the US

Ok, I came up on this article about the new Skyline GTR being spotted right here in the good 'ol U S of A!

Looks a little off with the covering, but to think the car is in that fine tuning phase where the Japanese techs are making adjustments and logging information is awesome.

I'll see if Nissan will give us one to review since the show is so huge right now...hehehe.

i think it looks horrific and i would much rather be in control of the car rather then it doing much of the stuff for me.

Where exactly is that comment coming from? I assume not from experience after reading your profile. There are no more than five inputs one can make when driving. It doesn't matter how technologically bloated the car is if you can't control those properly.

i know by driving a car no matter the amount of technology it requires some skill, im just getting a bit tired of not being able to buy certain cars that are all the driver, but then again kit cars will always exist.

and oh wow thanks for reminding me to update that profile its been years.

                  You're welcome.

From the Nürburgring videos I've seen of the new GT-R, it seems to be very fast, even if it looks heavier than the R34.

It will definitely be interesting to see how fast it is, especially having the Z06 in the same price category.

Nissan had sure better know what they're doing to try and play with these boys.

Hardly. TVR's assets are currently being bid upon to acquire the company from current owner Nikolai Smolensky. The lead bidder is Al Melling, the man who developed the V8 used in the Cerbera. Production is temporarily halted, but within a week or so, new ownership will take over and everyone's favorite fiberglass ferocities will be being churned out again.

Very true, definitely an uphill battle. I think a few of those cars are in a little different segment, but a good portion of them are in the price/performance range. I think I'd have to scratch out the GT500 though.. the test I saw it wasn't even as quick as a base model Corvette. I hope they release this thing with more than 450hp instead of 'leaving room for the tuners'.
