300zx. a good begginers car?

hey everyone im kinda new to drifting and have drifted myself maby 5 times in a friends car. ( not doing too bad i thought so) but my friends dont want me too mess up there cars so i was thinking about getting a 300zx but is that a good idea because all the ones ive been looking at to buy are either too expensive (like 6000 and i need one for around 3500) or complete junkers with basicly only a body. so could anyone give me some advice?

Unless its free or really cheap I wouldnt get one.

The motors are too finicky, its overweight.

Not a whole lot of aftermarket suspension parts, like a S chassis or Corolla.

Agreed. Some can be reliable, but they seem to have a lot of simple stupid stuff go wrong with them.

An 240sx is a good choice as well as a corolla. If you're looking for something different or in some cases cheaper, an older Z would be a good choice. There is a ton of parts to pick from for these cars as well.

I've heard a lot of bad stuff about these cars as well, which is too bad because I like the body style. You could also try an RX-7, but for your money it's better to stick to the tried and true platforms.
