help picking a car

i'm going to buy my first car soon and i'm sure drifting is something i'm going to want to get into, but i snowboard alot and need a car that will do well in the snow as well as be a good car to drift in. I was thinking some kind of wagon, with rear-wheel drive but a 4-wheel drive mode that could be turned on and off. Aside from that it probally should be a cheap as possible, does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks
