Its All about tyres!

Hi guys,

I recently bought a S13, and I am wondering learning to drift on a 2nd hand tyres rather than new ones. I read threads about tyres as 1st hand tyres are expensive and drifting wears out tyres. Just wondering If

a) I use a less threaded tyre or 2nd hand tyre, isit easier to initiate a drift?
(because its makes perfect sense that you would wana lose rear traction and good / 1st hand tyres have too good a traction.

b)Isit easier to drift on a smaller rim like a 15/16 inch, or a 18/19inch RIM?
(Because I do believe all these little factors affect the initiation and the course of it. also if methods like clutch kick maybe more difficult with good tyres and rims.

COrrect me. thk u

good to hear you picked up an s13

start out with some 15/16" tires, a lot of beginners start out with used tires (I know I did) and while that's not bad when you're just starting, keep in mind that later on you'll be learning on grippier tires. When you first start... get what you can get and get out on the track!
