Is It Illegal To Drive In Racing Seats or Just Drive In A Racing Harness?
Just wondering because I don't want to have to keep exchanging my racing seats with stock seats from everyday driving to track driving. |

It is legal to driv in both racing seats and harnesses as long as they are BOTH DoT (Department of Transportation) approved. I know there are DoT approved setups, they just cost a bit more.
Depending on what car you have, a lot of people just get a DoT approved seat and drive around with the stock seat belt, leaving the harness for the track. In some ways this can be prefered for every day driving 'cause it'll still allow you to lean forward in your seat, where a proper harness has you locked in. They do make harnesses that let you move, but I'm unsure of their legality in sanctioned races. |

K, thanks a lot for the info. Btw, just noticed that you and me both have (now had) the same amount of posts.
