Hi all :)

Hello everyone, hope all is well with everyone. I am looking for some advice and was pretty happy that I stumbled upon this website/forums (its great!). I am a 21 year old full-time college student in Albany, New York, and my dream (at least for a hobby) is to race/drift cars. For years this fact has remained but I simply set it aside assuming that it wasnt feasible. I have been experimenting/practicing with fwd and awd vehicles in the snow, ice and wet roads, drifting techniques such as e-brake with the fwd mainly, power-over to cause oversteer and feint drifting in the awd. So I even though it wasnt on dry pavement, I have a basic understanding of drifting as a whole, for a beginner that is. Thats basically it for the 'intro' on myself haha so here goes my real question/s...

I am a college student, so I am broke and cannot afford a car that is able to really withstand drifting for longer periods of time...not to mention the fact that I only own one car now (a 1998 Subura Legacy, manual) and cannot risk breaking it. What should I do to accomplish my dream of racing/drifting? I want to get into this very badly and am willing to work for it.

Also, I saw a post in here about a drifting school...are there any of those in upstate NY? I cannot seem to find one on google or in any forums, possible that I simply missed it.

Any help or input is greatly appreciated...thanks everyone
