The car is owned by IPS (intrinsic performance solutions). They are a new company whos goal is to create serious high performance racing products. Currently, they have cams for the RSX, but will soon be developing cams for the SR20DET and drifting. Ron is the owner of the car and IPS.

After Hours is also a major sponsor of the car... they are the ones who have done all the body work and fabrication work. Those carbon ducts on the hood were created by After Hours... if you guys come up to me at an event, I can also show you the awesome fabricating work behind the front bumper and in the engine bay!

...Thats a gnarly turbo/a/r setup for a drift car...I guess when you mash the gas you better commit to that corner to keep the power on!

benson,

how much boost are you guys running to make that 400+ whp?
what rpm do you see full boost at?
how responsive is that 2871R?
does the motor have a stock bottom end?
what turbo manifold, stock, custom?

sorry about all the questions.

by the way, i love that car.

The graphs show the difference between stock intake manifold and escort, same boost. The manifold alone with tuning showed sizable gains everywhere, even down low where you'd least expect it.

On the run, it peaked to 1.38, but held at 1.2ish. We reset the limit on the EVC to 1.6 but it wouldn't take while we were on the dyno. The next outing was Time Attack, and for some reason the EVC decided to allow the new limit. It peaked at 162, and held at 1.55 strong. Unfortunately, we haven't been back to the dyno to confirm what it is actually doing at that boost, hence the ~430whp.

The 2871R has excellent transient response in conjunction with the DC Sports equal length turbo manifold. As you can see full boost hits 4700-5000rpm. When you're on the track however, when it falls out of boost, it comes back very quickly. We could opt going down to .64 A/R on the exhaust housing, but sacrifice the big power. There's still a lot we can do to up the midrange responsiveness, and we haven't even started. The motor is a stock S13 blacktop with an HKS metal gasket.
