My JGTC Gallery (professional quality I hope!)

I've gotten some great reception here and on a few other forums in the past, so I'll just keep with the tradition and post up some of my favorite images from JGTC.

JGTC was incredible to watch - the technology behind these vehicles is positively astounding! Although I did feel the setup for D1 was, well, "different." If anything, it was safer - but also high speed, but not comparable to past events at Irwindale IMO.

Pix were taken with Canon EOS20D & Digital Rebel + a variety of lenses, mostly the 18-55 and the 70-200 IS.

Special thanks goes out to Sport Z Magazine for allowing me the opportunity to shoot portions of the event for them.

If anyone is interested in high res versions, or would like to inquire about commercial use, feel free to email me at: friscomgm AT yahoo.com

Enjoy!

The full gallery can be viewed here:

Comments, criticisms, tips, etc are welcome! I am constantly trying to improve my photography skills so feel free to voice your input!

Your photos totally rock man. I'm a videographer myself, but those photos totally rock. We need a who's photos look more professional contest going on now... LOL

What resolution is that Digital Rebel? And do you recommend it?

Digital Rebel is 6.3 megapixels - it is a great beginner's DSLR and has served me well.

My EOS 20D is much, much better though - very highly, highly recommended.

Oh yea, since their photo quality is so high, I'd water mark them more to make sure noone cuts your name out and just uses your work.

I thought about doing that for a bit, but I cringe everytime I see a great photo with a huge nasty watermark.

I have the original high res files, so I am hoping that this won't be a problem.

Oh and I am using Canon EOS 20D and Canon Digital Rebel.

I think the EOS 20D is around $1,500 and the Digital Rebel is around $900.

hey frisco i was planning to get a digital rebel as my entry into SLR photography, i was wondering which shots you took were with the rebel. as far as i can see i cant tell the difference between the 20D and the rebel, but yeah the 20D is pretty sick. i was wondering if there was anything else i need to know about the rebel.

Wow - thanks for the continuing compliments and views guys!!!

mk3mann: 20D runs about 1500 and Digital Rebel runs about $800 just as vigvoodoo mentioned. This does not take into account the additional cost of lenses and accessories though. I was using mostly the 70-200 f/2.8L IS lens at the event, which runs another $1700! Plus LOTS of memory, batteries, etc really starts adding up!

But the pix are worth it!

sidebyslide: The DRebel is a great entry level DSLR - but it really really lacks capacity for shooting motorsports due to it's speed and lack of true AI servo compared to the 20D. If you are just starting out, however, the DRebel can certainly get the job done until you hone your skills.

Also, for the rest - I've switched web hosts to accommodate add'l bandwidth and even added a wallpaper section to my site which I'll be adding more to soon so that more of you can get some of the high res stuff!

For now enjoy a few high res wallpapers I have upped, including shots like these:
