Looks nice are those custom rear diffusers or did you buy them somewhere? Overall looks like a great car.

How did you make the flares on the fenders and the quarter panels?

well AWDtoyota the fender flares we started with some low expannding spray foam , we sprayed all the side of the fenders and we cut it and sanded it to put it to shape , then we covered them with fiberglass, sanded them and put a bit of bondo and thats pretty much it, oh and there is a metal brace on the bottom edge of them for reenforcement. SolidAxleSlide you asked : What makes it a drift car? , well mainly the reason that makes it a drift car is that he drift's with it but i get your idea it could be used for drag and show and everything but we Adjusted the Camber to his favorite position to make it slide and we put a 4 puck unsprung clutch so the clutch can resist the clutch pops , the car comes stock with LSD and he is right now looking for a tein type flex damper kit with EDFC so to me as long as a car is being used to drift it's a drift car

SolidAxleSlide I have no action pics of it because when he was brigning it drifting the car was not painted yet so we did not really care about pictures, then it entered paint shop and the same day it got out we left for a car show in montreal called SCP5 when we got there a few cars started drifting in the parking lot and so did we but this happened before i even had a chance to take a picture of it drifting in case you dont know what that is its a Transfer case

and now that it's fixed well i live in canada and there is around 2 feet of snow so he wont be taking such a car in snow but as soon as i have some ill PM them to you for your pleasure

What type of expanding foam did you use(brand name)? And then you layered the fiberglass over the foam after shaping
it... correct? But did you leave the foam under the fiberglass when you were finished?...dose that make sense, if not I can try to explain it better.

Any way you can make extra flares?, I've been looking for some for my car although my bumpers are a little different so I may have to start from scratch like his.
Very nice car overall but I would imagine it would be extremely difficult to drift unless he's running extremely high HP and heavily modded the drivetrain to handle the extra stresses, what tranny is he using, Kormac or stock?

BTW, here are some pics of my 3000GT VR-4, kinda looks like a Drift car (yeah, I get asked to drift it all the time ) but I can just barely get the back end to swing out before the AWD kicks in, and AWS doesn't help either

mechamits i can always tell you how to make them but i dont do them for people and stuff i just work on that 3000gt with him because he works on my car with me he is one of my good friends ( dont take it bad or anything it's just that im starting college soon and i need to move for a year and since im only going to be 18 i wont be able to afford a garage to work where ill be...) but i can always PM you how to make them and also answer all of your questions you have regarding them ( they really arent that hard to make , if you dont believe me the ones on the 3000GT are the first ones i made before these either me or him had ever worked on fiberglass or carbonfiber ) Props on your car it is really nice ill PM you how to make it if you want me to

Thanks for the reply SpeedWise, and to answer your last post, yes, the center diff is viscous-locking, I don't know about it being variable though, also most early VR-4s have the limited-slip rear diff, but later it was a factory option.
Did your friend carry-over the All-Wheel-Steering and electronic suspension on his 3000GT from the VR-4?

I'm going to jump on this topic like dumb on Jessica Simpson. Well first, nice car. But if you (or your friend) are seriously going to enter this car in drift events, I don't think they allow audio systems of any kind. Also, the car has to be 2WD not 4WD.

You should convert back to SL, but then again, it'll be a FWD. Do the math: 4WD + audio systems - rollcage = no qualification. By the way, you forgot another awesome feature of the VR-4 which is 4WS.

ill start off with Ripper, the sound system is easily removable in less than 20 minutes, the carbon finer box is simple remove , and as for the 4wheel steering it was removed and we made a custom system to replace it that lets us change the toe in/toe out and the camber . For the rollcage we know he needs one to get in any kind of serious motorsports but euther me or him knew what a rollcage had to have to be legal, and i've seen some AWD evos and WRX in drift comps in videos but for D1 to be honest i have no idea if it is legal.

mechamits the all wheel steering question was answered in my reply to Ripper, and the electronic suspention is the normal and sport setting right, well if it was it has been removed and the same with the exhaust it had a switch for normal or sport which was also removed since it has a straight pipe exhaust. and he has a limited slip rear diff.
