Sat-Sun pix from FD @ LBGP

So Saturday and Sunday I didn't have a full course access photo pass but I snagged a few shots here and there of the cast of characters and their machines.

These first two are from Saturday while the cars were pre-staged waiting to go on track. The rest are from Sunday.

First is the Aristo power plant. The second is...well...you know these guys, right?

More of the cars coming on course. Sorry, the site is only letting me post 5 images at a time.

JR was driving Chris Kregorian's car after the tranny in his 240 gave out. Tyler's Supra with tons of fresh vinyl. Ernie in the McKinney 240. Casper's team put a new engine in after smoking it Friday. There's a couple here of him coming on course.

The group did one pace lap then stopped on the grid for the green flag. After they were let loose, I focused on some of the pit action and the front straight which didn't offer a lot of photo opportunities. Still, here is some of the action from my vantage point.

More pit action. The full course drifting definitely took its toll on the cars.

Four more from the front straight and pit lane then we moved to the podium ceremony.

More from the podium. I think Taka and Hiro were the only cars that did not pit in the Sunday session. IIRC, they were out the whole time.

Last two shots. First is the aftermath of Pfeiffer's unfortunate fire incident. The details of this were reported elsewhere in the general discussion forum. Looks bad but the RS*R boys were confident that they cound patch it up for NJ. Once they cleared away some of the damage, the car started and ran. Hopefully Alex will be able to tear it up at The Wall!

Finally, an overview of the post event photo-op. I was on the stunt bike landing ramp looking down. Anyway, everyone seemed to have a great time. I know I did. The show was great. The spectators, while I'm sure they still have no clue what drifting really is, at least got a taste and seemed to respond well to it. Good job to all the teams/drivers and to the whole FD crew. It was a tough weekend but came off great. I'm looking forward to San Jose!

Suede...out!
