Batlground Racing @ IRL-Honda Grand Prix, WDC Drift Demo this past weekend!

Dan and I just got back from a drifting demo @ the IRL race at the Honda grand Prix (the Streets of St. Peterburg) that was put together by the WDC. This was the second year we were invited. I didn't get to drive in the demo last year due to car problems, so I was super excited to have the opportunity this year.

The other drivers in attendance were Rob Flemming (XAT racing), Travis Deems (Stage 6 Motorsports), Blake Fuller (owner Braille Batteries) andThe driver of the drifting Honda (I forgot his name). Tim Tim Moceri (from Ter-Tech).

It was amazing! There was about 200k spectators in attendance for the weekend. The track is actually on the streets of St. Pete. We did 3 demonstartions in 3 days. We got to drive the entire track, although obviously only certain portions are drift-able http://www.gpstpete.com/assets/fanguide-2007-rev7.pdf
It's almost a 2 mile long track.

Dan and I got in the paper (I have to scan the article but will have it up tomorrow) and had a good interview for the local news channel. www.octanetv.com will produce 15 shows from the weekend. These shows can also be seen on-demand on octane TV. There will also be shows on the Fox Adreneline TV. It will take about a month for the shows to air, but I will post them as soon as they are available.

Dan and I got to chill with Mike Horvath, the Crew Chief for Marco Andretti-NYSE, Andretti Green Racing. He was so cool. They actually let us use their rig to fix an issue we had with Dan's car. Their set up is amazing....of course! When I grow up I want a trailer like that!

I have the black wheels on my car. Dan has the silver. I'm sure more will pop up in the next few days and I will be sure to update our gallery to include them. Brady www.bradystribling.com should have a ton of pics in the next few days. He came with us. I'm sure the coverage will end up in S3 magazine (he shoots for them).
