Taniguchi vs Orido - Mountain Drifting

So I was watching a couple videos on YouTube thinking "Yeah, I could do this. Most of these people aren't all that great." Then I saw these guys . . .

These guys are amazing. They really draw the line between professional drifters and the local street racer who thinks he can drift because he managed to keep from spinning out a couple times.

Yeah, there's definitely a lot of crap out there. I was just bored and wanted to see some pro level driving instead of the rather unimpressive display at a local event this past weekend. After digging through a bunch of "mi hom13 driftn hiz sik 3scalad on 22inch dubzz!!11!!!!" type videos, I finally found something worth watching.

I especially like the in-car camera shots. Since I've yet to do any actual drifting myself, it really made me realize how busy you are in a tight course.

Im not sure how new to drifting you are but the video you watched is of pretty much two of the best drifters in the sport.

Thats why they're so much better than what you've seen.

Brand new, I'd heard people talking about it before but . . . well, they were idiots. They would refer to drifting, not as a motorsport that revolved around car control and skill, but as a method of racing. So naturally, I never took it seriously. It wasn't until I spent some time playing Need for Speed: Carbon and saw the Team Drift event at the Long Beach Grand Prix that I got a better understanding of what the objective was. I'd love to get in a car at some point, but with a baby on the way, I don't see it happening any time soon.

Yeah, I'd assumed they weren't just your average drivers. Even still, some of the corners they were taking were really impressive.
