Alternate D1 competition

D1 Top Speed Competition at Autopolis. Cars go 0-400m then have to initiate and drift the D1 Autopolis course. First place is a S14 clocking 10.8 sec at 208km/h (130mph) before going sideways!!! Pretty damx fast! I love this because it combines drag racing with drifting!!!

D1 Drift Angle Competition at Tsukuba last turn. This is pretty interesting too going for max angle while still maintaining a good drift.

Inose and his crazy drag cars. Love them so much.

Didn't Drift Association try something similar with a drag drift and autocross event thing that was timed and judged. It is an interesting idea, but the US would get carried away with it...

Just need to start drifting on more autoplis like tracks (PIR, Gateway, etc...)

I think the toughest part would be finding a track with the ideal setup - a really long straight with a long, gradual sweeper, and plenty of run off and no walls.

I think that the Portland track might work... they use the front stretch as a drag race, but I think turn 1 might not be smooth of a curve or wide enough to do this.

techincally almost moroso cause the end run off for their 1/4 mile track goes right into road course but thats a lot of run off room after the traps before it goes into a turn.

AGREE!!!! FD needs to incorporate something similar to the 0-400m competition because it adds excitment!! Especially to the people accustomed to drag racing.

Been on it already for a few years now but main issues...
- venue
- cost
- sponsorship to cover the costs

Yeah Harri probly could hit 170 down that straight its like 1/2 mile maybe alittle more man that would be some serious early entry
