2 more weeks and the FD is trash!!!
I need to move my 90 GTUs into my shop to start the work!!
I recently picked up a 90 GXL for dirt cheap running =)
A white one with black interior!!(fc owners know black is rare on S5)

I know this thread hasn't been updated in a while but...

Why are you going through all of the trouble of swapping a REW out if you're getting aluminum side housings and probably new rotor housings? Almost everything that is left is identical to a S5 engine.

Needless to say you've gotten some good deals, I stumbled upon this thread looking at pictures on google. I'm buying a S5 roller, 1990 white GXL black interior, for $400. Going to be doing a turbo swap in it. Just looking at some pics. Good luck.

PS: If you're staying sewuential, wiring the FD ECU into the S5 car harness will be a *Censored**Censored**Censored**Censored**Censored* .

Well update=)
I still havent touched the GTUs project in 6 months.
Car is stripped motor out.
Getting the transmission rebuilt for spare parts.
Moving out my shop so I have limited space at the moment.
Bought another rx7 and have 3 in my parking lot now.
I just have so many projects and not enough manpower to do everything in orderly fashion.
1990 GTUs
1990 GXL
1991 Coupe
1989 BMW 525i
2004 Frontier truck
all are my cars.
my dads cars
1999 dodge truck
1996 dodge truck
1994 ford truck
and Im working on all of them but 2 need work.!!
So im swamped with work,
Selling parts and such.
It will be slow going.
I hope to get on it in 2-4 months so I will update and post pictures soon.

Oh
I wont be using aluminum sidehousings anymore.
Also I,m making Carbon Fiber parts for the FC and decided to go with full interior on the GTUs so im making door panels door skins headlight covers ect.

There is the update everyone wanted.
Yes nothing on the car but an explanation.
I promise it will be worth waiting for.

Finally F-ingly I put the widebody panels on after 2 years in storage I got her home and working on it.
So after 5 years of planning and switching chassis to this 90 GTUs It has begun.!!
I just have a little trimming and body work to do to get it looking straight and smooth enough for primer.
I am thinking of covering them with Carbon Fiber or just molding whole new CF panels while widening the rear fenders a little more.
Foresight front bumper and R-magic reverse vented hood and 4 light front bumper coming in 3 months!!
I decided to get 2 different bumpers and also am thinking about ordering the Knight Sports hood.
Also the RE rear Diffuser and 2 carbon fiber doors will be coming with the same shipment and a lot of other internal go fast/handling parts.
the bill I am looking at shall be around 8 grand in parts alone from this order then some later!

HKP time for you to chime in and say it took me 5 years to get started. Well masterpieces take time.

Anybody have a rotisserie I can rent?
