another 1jz drift s13 build...

since i've been out of the game for some time now, what better way to come back than with a new cage, some gold, and what some will call a superior motor! i'll always love sr20s =)

more on our flickr: Flickr: powerzamcam's Photostream

thanks to ankur champaneri for the pics!

06.30.08
the cage is what george calls his final masterpiece.

paint.

1jz-gte & r154 transmission from a jza70 supra. single turbo to come.

shifter extension.

almost there!

07.06.08
painted the cage.

got a new hood. a super duper jdm vented carbon hood!

ahh... makes sences... seems to be very funny when your drifting a bit too close to the wall...

"oh look over there, looks like his tyres are really burned down!"
"no its just the exhaust, scratchin' at the wall!"

well, after countless sunrise-welcoming nights and tons of help from everyone, she's finally back on the street looking gangster, not ghetto (with stock 15s and no sideskirts on an aggressive kit =p) and sounds even better. this is one of those moments i could say i'm high on life (or maybe it's driving around all day without exhaust gaskets). so now she's back at the shop ready for an oil change, some side mirrors, and a high flow cat. the first event will hopefully be club loose followed by drift nirvana on sept 28th.

first event! fell in love with the car all over again, the motor feels nice, i didn't have a tach so really couldn't push it (haven't even confirmed a rev limiter)...other than that, great time driving. but of course it wouldn't be an event unless i lose a front bumper =D

next stop: summit point for drift nirvana on 09.28!

Hmm... that is a pretty hardcore swap, cross brands too, my friend is currently doing a 2JZ Turbo swap into a 77 Celica. I just keep calling it the Suplica

soooo the season is coming to an end...i'm sad, betty's under cover, but at least it'll give me time to do what everyone has been thinking (and some of you have said)...

go 5lug and get real offset wheels. yay! now i just have to find the right ones...hmm, any suggestions? thinking about a set of te's since they're getting cheaper or a set of work equips. i just can't stop looking at wheel pics!

well there's a TON of coverage from the clubloose weekend killer a couple weeks ago. i only made the saturday runnings and ended up tearing a rad hose so i'm looking forward to the clubloose east coast bash on may 30 & 31.

there's a bunch of great videos from the entire weekend on the blog: Video | powerzamcam | bloglife

i also have a fire system to install and you'll notice i cut the exhaust tip (not for the haters but i don't want to damage the turbo/manifold if i rub the wall =p)

what a year! i accomplished the single goal i had one year ago which was to drive to and from the track for nearly every event spending minimal cash (no trailer or hotel). thanks to clubloose opening the etown track every month and george's amazing work on the car, that was possible and this turned into the best drifting season ever! we also met some awesome people that i look forward to seeing next year, even had the pleasure of crashing with one, check out the left rear quarter =D. i patched the rear bumper up with some left over front bumper parts haha. funny thing is the last event i broke a stud and destroyed the rest of the front, also the stock twins are pretty much done so maybe that'll be all for the off-season, check the blog for winter rebuilds. well thanks to everyone for a great year! here are some pics from 2009...full gallery on flickr:

most pics are from ankur, unless watermarked...

two of my favorite shots and a few stills in larger size =)

til next year!!

2010's been a boring car year, but exciting life year...my girl and i bought a place in march so i told myself driving would be OFF this season...yea, that didn't happen. besides switching back to popups, east coast bash was super fun, and should tide me over until the fall, even though wrecked moves is tomorrow...booo

well...if anyone has an aftermarket front bumper, used or whatever, hit me up and i'll be glad to purchase it from you.

thanks!
