!! D-Max / Origin Drift at Meihan in HD !!
As promised. From same event as my photo's from the other day. I think the aspect ratio is 4:3 again, but it seems to be an issue with the camera rather than the software. It looks ok in full screen, so please try that out for best results.
Hope you enjoy. Getting the hang of the editing software, but still amateur. Gambaraymasu! D-Max drift at Meihan Sportsland in HD on Vimeo James |

Looks to be an issue with your export settings.
What camera are you using? To me it looks as if you shot 4:3 with a letterbox setting in the camera which makes it look like 16:9, but its actually still a 4:3 image "letterboxed" to look 16:9. If your camera has the option to shoot in a native 16:9 or a squeeze 16:9 I would go with that. Footage looks good though, except for the aspect ratio issue. Try exporting it again in a 4:3, or if your using final cut and want to keep it in that resolution try this: Go to file, Export, Export using quicktime conversion Then once you get all your settings (Say you do the exact same settings as last time) click on the "Size" button. There is an option to "Preserve aspect ratio using letterboxing". What this will do is toss letterboxes on the left and right sides of the image and bring the aspect ratio to correct size. For instance you can see I did exactly that with this video http://vimeo.com/1405289 Ok, enough with that. Didn't mean to thread jack, just wanted to lend some help to a fellow video guy! Hope you get it all situated! -Josh |
