Pay very close attention to the actions of the wheel in this video and you'll immediately see why a G27 or any other cheap wheel can't even remotely come close to simulating drifting like the Thrustmaster. The only other wheel out there that is better than a Thrustmaster for realism is an ECCI but those are proper arcade-quality wheels and cost accordingly.

You could build a pro-am car for the amount of nerd hardware in that video.
Buy Forza 4, use a controller, and have fun. The medium used as an input between your brain and the vehicle or sim vehicle isn't that big of a deal, the fundamentals are the same just different modes of vehicle input. |
