trust me i would get the miata, i can already tell your not ready for a 3rd gen rx7 they are very complex machines and a lot more hassle than they are worth truthfully, but i luv it anyways

i say the miatas are better drift/daily drivers. dont have to worry about reliability, and its much cheaper to maintain then the fd. but if you have the money i would go fd.

I'd say miata also. FDs are awesome cars, but do require some money to fix, whereas miatas can be found hmm for .. hmm super cheap
Go miata, and maybe turbo it :P for added pleasure

ive heard servicing fees and such are pretty hefty with the Rx-7, i'd say miatas the way to go, also miata's mileage is pretty good, with gas prices going up and all.
