would buy this rx7

okay i been lookin every where for a fd and found this thingin:
here's what the site say 'bout it :"Here's a 1994 Turbo RX-7 that was stolen from a campus parking lot and then recovered by the insurance company. This is an insurance claim settlement vehicle. It is missing the the hood, headlights, front bumper cover, custom wheels, taillights, seats and radio. There is some damage to the dash area when the radio was taken out. We do not provide repair estimates."
i was thinking 'bout buyin it but my parent would kill me for bringin it home..lol.....what you all think

looks can be decieving. have someone check the motor out, make sure its stout. other than that it depends on your budget. take that info to a shop and have them give you an estimate. maybe you could buy it and get it in the shop for repairs right away instead of having your parents see it in this condition. but it all depends on your budget. how much are they asking for it?

yeah, be careful, specially if it is cheap. i had a friend put 2k down on an FD on like kelly blue book, they were asking 4500 for it with 22k miles on the odometer, it was suposedly a repo car....but when he drove 800 miles to go get it, the thing hardly ran cause the apex seals were hardly even there any more.....so he yelled at the guy and got his down payment back, but still had to drive 800 miles to get home....so yeah, just be careful....but the body does look to be in good condition (the parts not taken obviously...lol)

Exclamation is this car even up for sale?

personally i'd take it. the no bumpers and hood is no problem but must get seats and a headunit for it. i would see if the motor would turn on first though!
ps. is this stock or aftermarket turbo (upgrade)?

Just think of it this way, what would you do if you stole a car like that? Beat the crap out of it. The engine has probably been railed on pretty hard. Plus all the stuff they stole has to be replaced. Plus there is no price. How can anyone say you can buy it if we don't know the price? If they want 1000 bucks, sure buy it. If they want 10,000 bucks, well, maybe not. You have to think, FD's, just base models, are going for well over 6k with good chassis's depending on mods. I wouldn't let my R1 go for less than 8500 with the blown motor. That's just the roll of the FD landscape. Supply and Demand.

here's what they said:
"We charge a modest one-time-only fee of $15 (Fifteen Dollars) to cover the cost of servicing your lifetime membership. Our SECURE ONLINE REGISTRATION FORM instantly and securely processes memberships using a credit card. Or you may register by regular mail using a check." they got a bunch of cars but i'm not paying 15 bucks i'll use that for gas instead....what about you guys would you register and pay $15....??

From the picture it looks like its still running on stock twins. Well ive thought about selling my FD for sometime now. Its not running right now but only because i fryed one of the relays and havent got to fixing it. If someone offers me the right price i might sell my FD.

Well if it was stolen its a salvage title, and since its a salvage title I would never buy a car that has a salvage title. If I did it would have be be like $100 for a rare car.

If you FD3s Pilot really want an FD, then just wait and save money. All I know is that it ain't going to be cheap to drift an FD, But if that's what you want then go for it.

Good choice. Unless you like getting chased by midgets swinging baseball bats, don't Drift an FD. You are just a glutton for punishment if you do. It takes a special sort of person to Drift an FD, someone who is either rich and lies to throw money away or likes pain and likes to throw money away. If you don't know what this type of really indescribable pain feels like, just take about 4 thousand in 100 dollar bills and drive to me, since most Rotary specialists never seem to live in the town that you do, and give me the money. We can just install another blown motor in your car since it will just explode anyways.

Seriously, the FD is one of the most costly cars to campaign even as a daily driver, much less a daily driver/Drifter. There is so much that can and will go wrong.

So choose wisely young grasshopper, the hand you try to snatch the pebble from may bite back.

You have to have patience, the ability to withstand pain on par with a buddhist monk, and a lot of money.

My analogy on FD's are like this. They are fun to drive hard.the harder you drive, the more it screams, the more it screams, the harder you drive it.But then something has to give, usually ending up with liquids sparying, some more screaming and odd whining, smoke billowing, shaking, studdering, and the final let go.That's why a lot get put away wet.

FD's are like that pretty high matience.Just replace FD with girl and it fits well .

That site is a crock of *Censored**Censored**Censored**Censored*... Note that there's no phone number and they ask you not to email them. All they want is your $15. They advertise in the printed AutoTrader in SoCal, but never with a phone number. Bastards.

Yea Feint, that second round of screaming is usually the person who owns it. Sounds like a horror film. After I install my next engine, i'm gonna have a Catholic Priest come out and exorcise my FD before I even crank it.

hey, my fd is my daily driver/grocery getter/drifter/touge/street racer/drag car mauah and i drift it so i think i just got a complement by the infamous ghost aka john. and i i detest, even a poor immagrint kid like myself can make it work you just have to have confidence, and show the rotary whos boss. and ghost the money doesnt go into the garbage, it instead goes into the blackhole the rotaries create everytime they spin ill break into that hole 1 day and be a rich bastard

but seriosuly when i look back i shouldnt of gotten this car ever. it is my first car and its been a *Censored**Censored**Censored**Censored**Censored* and a half, but so far no problems seeing as how my mishaps in japan hooked me up with sum ultra secret rotary tips and a 13b so im set for now. untill it blows up and it would be about damn time ive put about 60k hardddd miles on it and so far its still running strong. im lucky because where i live ive got a few great tuners around me, t&r in nyc, the famous judge ito in jersey and kdr in virgina. personally if i could do it all over id just build myself a 400+hp s13 or s14 and call it a day, but youve got to deal wiht the cards youve been dealt and i lvoe my fd to death.

p.s. i dont agree with the screaming noise, so far all i hear is sexy growls ya baby yaaaa

personally fd3s, just stick with the beemer or build a s13 with gp sports kit in all black with ssr proffesor rims ahhh YUMMY
