honestly, rhys should not have won against chris. why is he like half a mile ahead when he is leading on his runs and why is he trying to pass chris on the straight at the begining of the runs that chris is leading? some one needs to remind him that this is drifting and not a drag race. not to mention he took chris's line away after the banked turn and hit his car. on top of it, the runs where rhys is leading and chris follows, chris starts his drifts a lot earlier while chris take off hualing asss. and because rhys takes off and puts such a huge gap on chris, i cant tell if chris is better or worse then rhys because he isnt even in the damn shot half the time. tandems are ment to be ran with two cars not one. hopefully both Rhys and Sam will find this out soon. if not, we might be looking at a WRC HP limited drift car series in the future. remember, FormulaD is the scca. Maybe you will get a weight penalty next year for each drift contest you win, wouldnt that suck.

Hmmm...after watching the videos again...on the thing about leaving Chris behind on the straight. The question I'm wondering is...is Rhys doing this because he hits the turn that fast? Or is he actually doing it to leave Chris behind? That's a question that probably only Rhys could answer.

As for that trying to pass thing on the round 2...I dont know what that was about. Rhys was in the wrong on that situation.

When Rhys is behind Chris though..he seems to be able to push and stay damn close on Chris's @$$. Especially on the last run of round 2 I dont know how he held that angle and was that close to Chris. For the round 2...the first round I would say is about equal performance. But for the second run I'd give that one to Rhys cause that third turn was just crazy angle and speed. I'm amazed he held the drift that close to Chris.

Just like the japanese guys, Rhys has had to perfect his skill of car control at speed and full lock so he is quite talented with controlled oversteer. I think part of the reason why he's able to get so sideways is because his car is set up to hold a large critical angle. He also has an LS1 which makes easy to steer through a series of turns with the throttle.

Rhys is the man!!

another part of the insane angle was with his huge fraeking air guide thing. i swear he did a 90* angle coming off the oval one lap.

and i will agree he is very aggressive drifter. but still badarse none-the-less.

but about leaving people off the line. last drift event i was driving a car with sr+basic turbo crap and my freind was in his ka. i didnt mean to but i kinda left him off the line just tryign to get speed for the 1st corner. i dont think they are spanking off the line on purpose.

I would have to agreee with that entirely, as I know that modifying a steering box and/or changing the specific geometry of A-Arms and steering rods etc., will give a vehicle more or less of a tight turn radius. The LS-1 issue is something to be addressed also as YES, when you start with 350 b.h.p. and 355 ft. lb. torque...F A CT O R Y. Ya have a tendency to "spank" people. I know that car has had some "hops" to boost it even further...just listen to it!! Sounds Hungry dont it?! IT is. heh..

another part of the insane angle was with his huge fraeking air guide thing. i swear he did a 90* angle coming off the oval one lap.

In actuality, I dont beleive that over-all, when it comes to getting sideways that the "Wing" on the back of his car has all that much to do with it...Unless of course it is there to ensure that he doesnt get OVER-sideways. As in, such a critical angle as to spin out. I know that usually, the wing of that size is for maintaining stability, NOT on or in corners, but rather on the Straights, and during VERY high speed top-end runs. But it could help with the vehicles "Correctivity"...its ability to return to true after a high speed drift. Also, in reflection, so long as he is drifting near 60+ MPH, the wing could be effective...but it will tend to "bleed" downforce off, and rather aggresssively I might add, the more sideways that he gets.

Yes, Rhys IS a bada&s, Yes, he does spank people, and yes he does get up on them....but remember also, though drifting is what it is, it is also VERY much R A C ING. IF, he has a good sized HOLE, I would be disappointed if he DIDNT take it. But from what I saw, he did a wonderful job in NOT forcing his nose where it didnt belong, and even backed out when he was too close....he didnt hit Dai...He hit Chris I think, judging by the failing bumperskin after the second run....but yeah...Rhys is the Man...Drivin one of the Baddest vehicles to hit American streets in 30+ years. Peace fellas...sorry the post is sooooo long. Heheheheh
