Koguchi drives it in D1. Finally the judges start giving him high scores (in D1 they do not like private entries... all the drivers who do well are factory works drivers for companies who support D1 Ring Circus...) Sucks that Koguchi had to "sell" out but shiiiiit, maintianing a 500hp 180sx by yourself is a hard thing to do. Hard on the wallet too, maintinence and transportation, etc...

Anyways, yeah whats the point of this post?

a lay off the crack you dont no sh it about koguchi or his skills. He has been driving for HPI for a while and I took that pic with a few more.

I can list quite a few peeps running on their own D1 hasnt done crap to their scores. He dropped down just like Ueo or Asamoto in a slump nothing more.

I have all the specs on the car and team you want em PM me.

Really? You know anyone who runs in D1? Cause i know... ummm well all the US drivers. Plus a couple guys in Japan. Ever heard of Hiroshi from Running Free? Red AE86, totally built... Self funded... married to Kumakubo's Sister (no lie). Hiroshi says how he doesn't want to drive in D1 anymore because there are too much politics. Keiichi asked him to drive for a works team, he was like WTF no, never does good since then. I am seriously not making this up.

Hmmm you know of the team HEY MAN!? They do BM Hai and Advan Meeting events... Shinji just won Expert class BM Hai at Nikko and Robbie (gaijin) got 6th. They won the Team Drift comp that same round. Yeah, "D1 is BS."

Its no secret... hell, have you driven in any D1-sanctioned events? IF not, ummm i don't think you are qualified to tell me i am wrong.

Also, Koguchi driving for HPI for a long time, eh? Hmmmm No. That was a new car, this year. Last year his green 180sx had DRFT aero, new wide fenders, and flush headlights. The season before that (2002) it was the Ikeya Formual aero and projectors under the sleepy eye. Year before that (2001) was the same thing, bu the first half of the year the car was Black. Before that the car was black with Hotroad Ver. II aero and Blitz Z1 17/18 inch wheels. Oh wait, I know my sh!t, what are you going to do now? Oh what's that? i've talked to Koguchi everytime he comes to the US and he has given me suggestions on how to setup my car, how to keep it running cool, how low it should be (as row a possibre) etc... I gave him a Pink GodziRa hat an he took my driving gloves and wrote "Pink Koguchi" on them. I'm not trying to brag, I'm just telling you that I know this dude you are trying to lie about... you are not correct, and you shouldn't be an as.s towards me when I know my stuff. Perhaps if you picked a driver that I or nobody else knows, then you could maybe get away with such lies.

I suggest you watch some of these "JDM Option" videos that are available (on this site, too). In vol. 4 you can see a "New D1 Machine Test" what car's are in it? ORC Z33, Blitz ER34, RE Amemiya FD3S, HPI S15 SILVIA .

Also, check out Vol. 6 with Ebisu round. Before the race the judges were all on Miki's nutz and had basically said they wanted him to win. He later crashes because this dude from Dropout Racing (been around for a while) OWNED everyone in a 150rwhp Corolla. He owned all the 500 hp S15s, everything... they kept pairing him with the hardest opponent available too. You know the jump on the apex of the left hander that leads onto the front straight at Ebisu (maybe you dont...) ? Well this dude wouldn't just clip it and get 2 wheels off, he would JUMP it sideways. AKA 3 to all 4 wheels off the ground while he's sideways and holds the drift in a 150hp COROLLA down the straight! Corollas are... sh!tty. They have a tiny wheel base, no torque, and no power. No caster, no rear camber, a sh!tty *Censored**Censored**Censored* suspension design by common standards (but they do stay sideways if you build them correctly). SO anyways, this dude goes OFF. They have him and Nomuken in the final. They make him go 3 extra rounds until they claim Nomuken won. Remember, Nomuken is a lot of people's favorite driver. The Dropout guy... yeah, i don't even know his name and I have seen him around for a couple years. He's nobody compared to those guys. (Well, I've always loved the car, and he's my hero now).

Anyways, if you listen to them, they keep pointing out where Nomuken was just every so slightly smoother in his corrections (aka not as frantic and hard working inside the car). And thus ends up winning. They never announce any of the good points of Dropout guy's driving (remember, this is being heard by everyone there, too). DUDE, he pulled away from nomuken's 500hp ER34 in a 150hp corolla. And they were like (oh look at how Nomuken is holding the drift down the whole front straightaway!" (while the guy just peaced out with a much better line and speed while drifting!!!) WTF! The correct commentary should have been: "Look at Nomu- HOLY CRAP that guy's just jumped onto the front straight AND pulled away fom a 500hp skyline!!! Kakkoii! Kakkoii!"

Oh well... In vol. 6 you can check out D1DS at Fontana and how they showed all of our WORST runs of the day and made the americans look like complete retards. That's Keiichi for you.

I feel like Moulder from the X-Files.... unless you have experienced it, no one is going to believe me, even though it is the truth. Oh well, if you want the believe that D1 is fairly judged and Keiichi doesn't have favorites you are welcome to do so. But it would be like calling an S12 200SX an HKS S15... not true, no matter how hard you try.

lol PG, that made my day... i got another question, so was kazama rigged to win the feb D1? i mean this guy, to the best of my knowledge, wasnt even in the top 10 Japanese drivers last year. So was Imamura also rigged to win overall? just FYI, im not trying to attack you, but you know an AWEFUL lot, so i jsut wanted ur input. ive also seen u drive before, i was the guy u flamed for not having pics of ur car from DD17... remember?

edit: PS: u think tsuchyia edits the vids and decides what is shown in them?

I know some of the guys from HPI. In fact,..this thread reminds me. I haven't talked to them in awhile.

Here are some pics and specs of the HPI car.

See the S15 in the upper left. Yes, the current black HPI S15 was formerly blue.

Regarding any favoritism, rigging, or drama involving the judging...the truth is out there.

Is D1 absolutely rigged? Well... i dunno I have my thoughts. In my personal opinion, D1GP events are held, Keiichi (Orido doesn't have faorites that much, but he can't argue with keiichi... ya know that whole respect thing) has his favorites for the day. Honestly right now Miki, Kazama, and Nomuken seem to be his favorites. Of course it changes, since he wants variety and excitement in D1. Ok, so he has these favorites and he is very lenient towards them when it comes to judging. Like... 100pts or 99 pts when the run usually was a90 or 85 or something.... SO its not like these guys suck, its just.... rule bending. But if he sets the rules, i guess he can bend them...

For instance, at Ebisu, there was a part where Keiichi says "Normally the line here would be out on the first corner, then in for corner 2, but it seems like he (i think it was Kazama or Nomuken) has changed it for today, clipping corner 1 as well."
I was like WTF.... which line is it? At D1DS you said the most important thing was "line" and you claimed everyone's line was off. But watching the PRO's drive that course, they were doing the same thing... what you told us not to do. WTF.

Ok, so its like... well, does line even matter? Yes, but why bend the rules half way through because one of your favorite guys is taking a new line... i dunno, seems weird. Its like they are rationalizing advancing certain people by saying certain things so that MOST people watching would be like "Oh? Ok, thats cool, he's so good he chooses line's keiichi didn't." Or something. I dunno its fricken weird.

You should have seen his face when Kazama (driving Keiichi's company car) broke down at Ebisu. HE WAS PISSED! He didn't say a word, just kept looking at his scoresheet.

Anyways from the get-go they were all over Miki, like "Miki is the driver to beat today, he will win for sure if he just drives with no major mistakes." WTF??!? How can you say this BEFORE a race?

A lot of the judging scores are influenced by D1GP sponsors i think. Its a big money-making machine, so if Keiichi is personal friends with a team owner (he is with a lot of them) then of course he wants to stay friends with them.

So basically i see it coming down to this: As long as the favorite drivers don't screw up too badly, they will do well. A privateer or "lesser" driver has to Stand out like 120% so that there is no way around advancing them. Someimes if the runs are equal, they will give it to the works driver because more people want to see those guys, and more money for the sponsors, means more money to go into D1 potentially. So you have to BUST YOUR A.SS to stand out so there is without a doubt no way anyone would belive any rationale behind you not making it. Thats what the DRopout guy did. Until the very last sudden death where they ignored all the times the little hachi out drove Nomuken and gave it to Ken cause he had to make "less corrections". You could kinda tell that Orido was like "Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat. You want me to say who won??? Ok, sir drift king." Keiichi was like "Ready to announce the winner? Have we decided?" And Orido was just like "Uhh.." And motioned his hand towards Keiichi.

Oh well, too bad. Everyone who drifts knows that guy kicked some *Censored**Censored**Censored*..

This is the whole reason why a lot of my friends just drive BM (Battle Mag) and Advan competitions in Japan. If you watch, a lot of times D1 drivers compete, also a lot of drivers no one will ever hear of do SO well. These events are judged by drivers/experienced drifters, etc... usually from D1 so its not like 1 guy decides all the time. Also, when you go to these events you place yourself. ANYONE has a shot at driving in the Expert class, although my friends tell me you basically need 350 hp in an S chassis to compete with those cars. He drives an S14, so he basically said his S14 with at the time around 300ish hp... and a cracked exhaust manifold... was not enough power for Ebisu and Expert level drivers. Not that its impossible, if you are good enough, but to the average guy, to be competitive... 350hp.

DrunkCarlos (Jim) on the boards with the Soarer, got top 16 at that event! Hot!

And LAPD...Brian told me who you are.... WTF, that doesn't sound like something you would say at all... i think if you re-read your comment, you will see how it sounds really newbie-ish and uninformed. If you mean Koguchi has be SPONSORED by HPI (as in they give him free intercoolers) yeah, i can see that. He has had sponsors for a while, but they never fix his car when he crashes or tunes it for him, etc... So he was still a privateer.

BTW, you will know what i'm talking about with the "leniency" in the judging. Cause we all know Tanaka should have definitely won D1 in Feb.

Last year, Keichii was all about Team Orange. Whats up? He seems to be... Meh... this year. Guess it just changes. Asamoto is still one of my favorite dudes... ever since Hariguchi said "F the D1."

Dont turn this into a flame war, you guys dont know LAPD or else you'd know Koguchi DRIVES FOR HIM. I'm not gonna sit here and join this argument, since it all spawned from a misunderstanding of sorts, but to all the newcomers: dont open your yap if you dont know what you're talking about (directed towards: twcfc3s who's posted such useful information on this site in the past ) I dont even think they get import tuner in Tochigi ya fool.

Word... misunderstanding... I remember who he is now, in fact I have talked with him in person at Feb. D1. When Brian told me who it was, it didn't make sense for him to post what he did, so i guess i read it wrong, or he said it wrong, or something like that. No worries.
