    [/B]Equipment:[/B]

Helmet -- Make sure your helmet is SA or MA 95 approved. NO LOANERS AVAILABLE

Clothing -- Jeans or long pants are recommended, shirts and covered-toe footwear required.

Tires -- Bring AT LEAST one set of extra wheels and tires to the event, more if you plan to drive home in the same car. Spare tires cannot be used on the course.

Tools -- A simple set of sockets and of course tools to change tires. Additional tools that might prove handy include a tire pressure gauge and air compressor. Make sure you take care of your equipment during the event, as we are not responsible for theft/damage that occurs to your belongings.

Water -- for vehicles and people.

Pop-up tent -- handy during these hot summer months.

    Other advisories:
Please be up to date with our technical inspection process and requirements for vehicles. There is only one hour allocated to tech inspections and if your vehicle fails to pass the inspection process you will not be allowed to participate. Also, be on time for the driver's meeting. We will be discussing important on-track procedures and safety guidelines and failure to attend the meeting will result in a driver not being allowed to participate in the event.

    Pre-Tech inspections:
Drivers may have their cars pre-teched at either GSpeed Corporation in Gardena, or at Monstor Fabrication in Glendora. A pre-tech inspection can save you trouble by locating and fixing technical problems prior to an event. The pre-tech process is free so follow the tech inspection / rules link below to schedule an appointment.

FAQ - for general driver inquiries

    Frequently Asked Questions.

    What is drifting?

The fastest way to understand drifting is to see it firsthand. That however, won't reveal all the nuances of drifting, especially the minute details which judges notice at the professional level.

    What is Drift Association?

Drift Association is a company that organizes Drift schools. We are also consultants and co-organizers for other organizations such as D1 Productions (D1 USA) and Mainstream Productions (Drift Showoff).

Our company operates a video production company with our current DVD release, "Drift Review 2003". In the past, Drift Association has provided valuable information for commercials, TV programs and starting companies. Although we consult on a regular basis our primary focus is our Drift Day program.

    What is Drift Day?

Drift Day is a school for some and a practice session for others. The reason why we do not call it a "school" is because every driver has the option to receive assistance or not. On case someone wants to learn, we do provide instructions from the best drivers in California. It's an all day affair that truly embraces the spirit of club racing.

Why do you charge so much for an event? We are the only organization in the U.S. that has a proven background for teaching an individual the art of drifting. Our program cannot be duplicated for the price we charge. Some of the drivers that has given our program credit includes:

Ken Gushi- U.S D1 Driver and Team Rotora competitor

Calvin Wan- U.S D1 Driver and Team Falken competitor

Andy Yen- RS-R second place finisher and Autolink sponsored driver

Benson Hsu- Option Ikaten winner and HIN sponsored driver

Ryan Hampton- Former IRL racecar driver and JIC demo driver

Taka Aono- 2002 Solo2 national champion and Team Drift Association demo driver

Isn't Drift Association making a lot of money from events? No, in reality all the money generated from Drift Day is put back into buying supplies and making the next Drift Day better.

How is Club4AG affiliated with Drift Association?

Drift Association LLC. was formed as a direct results of Club4AG. The two founding members own AE86's and thus the relationship began.

What is the best way to learn how to drift?

Come to one of our Drift Days. Our instructors can ride along with you on the course and give pointers to improve your drifting.

How can we start our own Drift Day?

Drift Day is an official Trademark of Drift Association LLC., so please consult with us before using the name for any events. We are currently licensing our program to other states and we will continue to expand our program. If you are interested in starting a Drift Day in your area, please contact us at info@Driftday.com

How can I become a staff member at your events?

Drift Association is always interested in volunteers at our events. There are some "perks" for staffing at our events, but we will not disclose it to everyone. We do have a few requirements for volunteers such as:

-Individual should have some experience attending other forms of automotive sports such as autocrossing or road racing. Drivers that attend autocross events are highly encouraged because of the flagging experience they attain after a few events.

-Individual will need to attend a few Drift Days as a driver.

-Individual should not expect anything in return for their work.

We are not accepting any new staff members at major events such as D1 or Driftshowoff unless approved specifically by Motohide or Naoki. Please do not send emails inquiring about staffing at any major event.
