drifting go cart (not gixxerkart)
i just finished my plans for a sweet go kart that will hold me off until i get a real car.
im using a 660cc raptor 4 stroke motor with around 75 hp stock and am going to mount it to a solid rear end with a full caged frame. i plan to use the susp., brakes, and controls from a used raptor. i also will buy some old coilovers that are stiff enough to use on the road. buying a sparco seat and 4 point harness. tuning the motor a ton. overboring to 700cc, full racing port, head work and a high lift cam. all of this should give me about 85 to 90 hp and will scream through a strait header. ill get a racing 6 speed transmission and a foot clutch converter and make it so that the foot is softened so its like a sequential shifter. taking most of the parts off the raptor. having the steering done professionally along with the frame wich may be stainless but probally steel. using 10x5 inch rims and 15x5 inch tires (lawnmower tires) in back and some stickier tires in the front. with 12x7 inch tires for mudding and off road.

weight: est 550 lbs with driver
Power: 90 hp and 95 ft lb
top speed: 85+

cost: about 4 grand total

sound good?

sounds very good. I used to drift one just like that gixxekart... 120HP... Go karts are very fun to drive because of the insane feed back you get and the awesome handling.

Maybe you should try adding nitrous!:D;)

Ok...you had a 120 hp nitrous-fed gokart?

I smell something...

...something sorta foul...

...I know! It's CRAP.

Pics and vid please. If that is real then I will apologize profusely and praise you up and down...but somehow I feel an excuse coming on.

For 4 k i can get a 240sx for 2000 and the other 2000 would go to insurance and mods! I dont really see the point of a go-kart unless your racing it competetivly for money were you can regain the money you spent on it. :)

No it didn't have nitrous i was asking what he thoguht about doing that to his go-kart. He seems smart enough not to do it though.. I'll clear up that post if you like.

P.S. It was just a go kart with GSX-R750 motor in it... pulled pretty damn good, cornered flucking awesome, I almost wish a still had it, or this one:D: http://www.meditech.ch/exoticthermoe...ine%20high.wmv

I got the base for the kart from this company:

I had to modify the drivetrain, seating position, and lengthen the damn thing, but it was worth it. The flucking thing got stolen after all that hard work. After about three or four weeks with it, I had nothing. The cops didn't help at all. Neither did insurance, of which i had none. I would appreciate whoever stole it, to gladly BURN IN HELL. :(

no im not gonna add nawwwwwz
and i just want somethin fun becides a car
and it will probally take 3 months to build and im gonna make it in summer of next year.
just droppin the idea
but i hope i dont kill myself in it
thats a mean power to weight ratio

I still don't believe you.

But that vid of the jet-kart blowing up was funny as hell.

scirocco 09-16-2004 09:36 PM

I know dude, enjoy it like i enjoyed mine. But be careful, thieves will steal anything, even if you they cant ride it away, they sure seem to have their ways. Careful, and have fun. BTW, i dont care if you believe me or not, this is just the internet, ill try to scan an old photo as soon as i find it.

These should cheer everyone up:

5 and 8 are two go kart ones, although there are others, like a 13B powered drag kart. You should check them all out until you get to about 16 where it begins with hydrogen peroxide purifiers, skip to 25 if you only want vids.
