  • how many tickets have you gotten being caught drifting?

im saving up money for an s13 or fc, first fr car i'll own.. i may sound like a little b!tch but im really afraid of getting tickets/jail/increased insurance, suspended license/etc, whatever other consequences they're might be to getting caught sliding on the street (even though ive been sliding about my crappy ff escort anyways)

I know when I get the car im going to start doing it alot more often now that i'd have a more capable car, one thing I really dont look forward to is being able to slide like once every other month or however often these legal drift events happen, at least in los angeles.. bah i dont know.. just thinking out loud here..

from actual drifting i've only gotten 2, in the past year. First was a improper turning(slap on the wrist) but the cop was more or less impressed on what i did 'cause he could've pretty much taken my license right there. second one was an exihition ticket which is 100.00 and two points. the only reason i got the ticket is cause the parking lot that i drifted in regularly had gotten resurfaced and the owners didn't want me out there tearing it up. It pretty much depends on the cops, and the area you live in.

None, i dont drift on the street, its reckless and stupid. The local dragstrip has a large parking lot and im friends with the owner. So i have plenty of room to SAFELY drift. I dont car how experienced you are, even the top drifters crash.

1 running down the Blue Ridge Parkway at 2 am and the park patrol sniped me. Just a reckless driving ticket that i got dropped (first offense). A few minor warnings too but the cops didnt really see what i was doing, only the tire marks tell the tale heh heh

If you want to drift more (legally) heres a suggestion. A few months back I talked to the local autocross club here. After some convincing I got them to incorporate drift into next years events. So starting next season they will have more tracks catered to drifting rather than straight up auto-x.

please dont b!tch to us..some of us arent as fortunate as you to have friends that own a track and let us use the parking lots there legally..and it does matter how experienced you are..the more experienced, the less possibility you will crash...thats why pros crash less often than we do..well thats if you go out every weekend or so

No tickets and its staying that way!! Ninja Vanish!

Seriously though, if you find the right places then you wont be bothering anyone. Its all about using common sense, preventative measures, and good judgement. Drifting parking lots is great to learn but sooner or later people want to tackle turns. Yeah people will crash. As Kyle Arai always says, "Drifting is crashing" and I totally agree. To get good you have to experience some crazy stuff.

not to continue to *Censored**Censored**Censored**Censored**Censored* , but i second. congrats on having a place, but that's just not likely for everyone.

the closest most of us can do is ask every business owner you have around you to see if you can. letters, letters, letters
