  • V.I.P. Style?

Mods, I know this really doesnt have much to do w/ drifting so delete it if you must.

What classifies a car as being "V.I.P style"? I know they have the big chrome wheels and low/sleek bodykits but what else? Do they do any engine mods? and also, how does it differ from the cars most Rap artists have? I think it was Junction Produce that claims they've started it but IMO the Americans started it years ago.

    Somebody enlighten me

well for one, when I think of VIP I think more of a higher end japanese car than a mercedes or such.

You can check out www.vipstylecars.com for a better definition.

There's a few V.I.P's that drift. Soarer,Chaser, Verossa, Cresta, Mark II. They have a turbocharged inline 6, 1Jz, or 2JZ-GTE. There's a pretty good aftermarket for them in Japan, turbochargers, intercoolers, suspension, etc, etc.

        Mark II

The way I see it Vip style is all about getting the look of a drifter but in a large super-luxury sedan. It's all about being large and in charge but still fast without all the ghetto stuff you see in the states.

Now here's some cars I think that could make some nice domestic VIP rides.
              1. Cadillac ETC/STS (FF but with Northstar V8 power and unmatched presence)
              2. Mercury Maruader: this thing IS factory VIP style
              3. Chevy Impala SS (the old rear drivers not the new FF's) This guy has been a cult favorite for years. I'm sure this guy could be made into a rather in-your-face Vip car without too much effort.

there are a few things that make a vip car.

                  1. huge rims. hella deeeeeeeeeeeeep dish
                  2. bluky bodykits. drops the front, rear, sides to the center of the earth
                  3. dark or very light paint. black, white ect.

                          do they drift VIP cars?
It's wierd though, that now that the Japanese put pimpin out cars in a specific genre aka VIP style, i bet more people will get into it. I mean, we have the escalades, caddilacs, benzs, and stuff but now that the Japanese are doing it, itll be more cool (sarcasm). See, i love drifting and respect the jdm craze behind it because it originated from Japan, but for VIP, why not praise american pimps and rappers and those funk singers from the 70's?
