Perfect car for a 16yr Girl

Well my little cuz' birthday is coming up soon, and I want to get her a tight little drifting car. Shes not totally into drifting yet, but she just now entering the world of street racing.

She wants a "mid sized car thats not to heavy, but has enough weight to keep it on the ground." After getting her to give me a couple examples (ex. light - Civic, mid - Eclipse, heavy - Supra) She said something like an Eclipse but worthy to be driven. I was thining she might like a 240, but I'm not sure.

Anyone have any ideas? I'd love some input. Especial from any girls on the forums.

i think she should start out on some pos car and learn the basics of driving before getting her a sports car to kill her self in.

I think I might go with not so much as a POS car, but something that still has some kick left in its life. How about a Mazda Rx-7.. an FC? A chick can dig an FC right? One that needs a bit of work, but can still haul butt.

i meant a pos that doesnt "haul butt". sports car+rwd+new driver=bad things. i think all kids should start out with some sort of beater so that they can learn the basics of driving and respect what a car can do and cant do and not worry about being mr intial d or fast and furious.

come on, ANYBODY can dig an fc, that beautiful sound, helpful hint, when you remove the cats the true rotary sound comes out. they're great cars, i'd reccomend them to anyone but then you'd all buy them so wait, nevermind don't buy an fc, caues i need the parts

True... that’s very true. But when I was a kid (whoa that makes me feel old) When I was younger, my first car was an '87 Toyota Camry. When I got it, it had over 250k miles on it. Needless to say I loathed that car and to be honest I still do. I drove the hell out of it everyday, and when the radiator cracked and lost all the water I still drove it. Then a piston locked up in it, and I was out of a car for a while. Either that or I had to drive a 3 cylinder car that sounded like crap. (*clack*clack*clack*) Then I bought my 300zx. I can't say I'd love any car more. That’s why I figure... hey an RX-7 (like a 1990) is an old car, but still pimpable and is fairly fast. I think it would be a cool car to learn with. Plus they are fairly cheap (I've seen many that run for 4k or less). Then again that’s probably just the enthusiast in me talking.

What else would be a cool, yet realistic, car?

i agree.. try a civic or integra first, ff will teach you the basics of driving, then after a year or two, get her into rwd, this way, she will have a little more experience in driving, i know i wouldn't want a new driver (especially, like ankyle62 said, a Mrs initial d or fast and the furious) to be driving around me and my family.
