well, it was in my first car, which was a 2002 dark blue sunfire.

it was raining and i was doing some spirited driving like i always do and i took it a little too fast through a busy intersection and put my car sideways. the reason for this is cause my car had quite a bit of crap in the trunk (subs, skateboards, etc.) so i was able to keep myself sideways through the corner and was able to straighten it out like nothing even happened.
i managed to not hit anyone, but it was cool to have about 20 witnesses.
everyone was honking and yelling all pissed off. some guys were cheering, so that was cool.
but now i finally have a rwd sports car to drift around in.

un-intentional on my way to a party through back roads... down shifted into a corner, corner was sandy, 4 people in the car.. all the weight made the back kick out... i just didn't want to go flying into the woods, i have like 4 bottles of alcohol and 2 cases of beer in the trunk... the car was an Evo...

          Hey,

Well i have two cars, a 91 subaru L series wagon with a turbo conversion and a 81 toyota celica.

I have not yet drifted the celica, but will next month.

But i am always out there with my FF subby trying to give it a go.

One day awhile back, it was raining (and yes rain is cheating) i was out there givin it a go with my bro as a passanger and got some speed, shifted down, turn left then quickly right and got sideways.

It was nothing special, but made me get off my a$$ and in a mad rush getting to get my celica ready.

my first time was with a buddy of mine, it was in our neighborhood (part that didnt have that many houses around) and it was a couple of hours after a funeral (one of our best friends) and he floored and we did a burnout at first then we did a power over drift.

by the way we would not have done it in a neighborhood or populated area except it was after our friends funereal and we needed to have some fun

s-turn with my friend, went outside cut inside droped to second and then counter steered, it scared the hell out of both of us, but after i had the greatest adrenaline rush, i can still here those tires screeching, and the smell of burnt rubber...never look at the road the same way again

My first time was in my first car (a 1978 Mercury Cougar, which i still have), anyways, It was wet, (cuz i live in oregon), and I was coming back from my school lunch break, and I had all my friends in my car. I was traveling on a straight typical suburban street at about 25, slowed down before starting to head up the street towards my school, which is an uphill left turn, I tried to show off for my friends, so I punched it right before making the turn. My car traveled about 25ft up the hill sideways, before looping out, and by then I was under full braking, so I ended up facing back in the direction I came, not a full 360, but because i was going around the corner also, it was about a 270. From then on, I only did them at low speeds, on gravel, or on dry pavement using my parking brake to break the rear tires loose.

Mine first experience was in my 1988 toyaota corralla AE101 JDM atuomatic ( yup it was a an auto and I was and still am in Japan, but it kick A$$, i had 3 drag challenges on any daily drive around the town.), it was raining and I was doing my usually aggressive driving and making one of my favaorite two lane (only) L turn (it was like a u-turn and 35 decline). I pride myseldf on the fact that i can get less then a inch to the side rail on that turn while going 60 kmh ( 40 mp) Me and some of my friends loved to see who was the best driver. i was the fast and crazest ( if I had 2 inches on either side I can go at it about 30-45 mph no problems). WEll I got new tires and their are the super grip Can't remebr wha tthe hell i got. and it was raining and I miss judge the speed and my angel I was already starting sliding inward by the time i hit the turn, jabbed it more toward the left and press the accelarator. It threw my back out and an I made the turn direct perpendicular to the road ( god only knows how close i was to either guard rails. I saw a small truck coming jabbed hard to the right and amazingly skipped my back wheel and it threw my back to the left ( i thank God their was any rails at the bottom on my side of the lane) the truck passed me like nothing happened and i just drove straight and kept on driving ( yeagh i check my pants to se if I wet myself or somthing but i was ok).

First time i actually tried, i borrowed my friend Skyline GTS and went on this super snakey up hill rout (basicly the side of a valley. don't I pick the best places to try) and just started trying momentum shift at ok speeds, but wasn't working so i sayed to hell with it and went up the hill at 60-80 kmh. These turn were pretty damm hard by the time i exited one i was entering the other. well i got to start shifting the way i wanted after the second turn on my second try. I just started skipping from right to left based on the turn. i made through 8 turns at 60 km/h and no accidents ( i didn't fall of the cliff). i did scathe my friends right rear bumber. Lesson of the story don't learn to drift on a cliff!!!

now I have an RX-7 whic I'm trying to play with.

night of my bday when i turned 16,went to empty circle court and did some power over drifts spun out a few times,of course, then ended up sticking it all the way around the court 1 time, then as i was leaving i did a faint drift on the little straight away leading out, spun out and back tires got stuck on a little patch of ice and had to have my 2 buddies with me push while i pushed on the gas.note my mom got me a 1989 240sx coupe for my first car.but still havent crashed it over the last year.which proved many many people wrong.

My friend let me drive her Pontiac Grand Am GT, which isn't all that bad of a car, and we went to this industrial park with this long straight going into a pretty wide 90 degree corner, so i hit the gas got it up to about 90 slowed to about 50 right before the corner pulled the e-brake, counter-steered and let the back end slide. It scared the *Censored**Censored**Censored**Censored* out of my friend because we were about a foot away from the wall of this warehouse, it was pretty intense.
after that she never let me drive again =/

Ummm im not tryin to be a *Censored**Censored**Censored**Censored* but yall are POWERSLIDING not drifting

Drifting is a intentional form of driving, IN A RWD car.

Drifting is not, accidently sliding in the rain in a FWD car.

Im just trying to let you guys know, because people are gonna make you feel like crap if you think your drifting and you brag about it, but your not drifting.
Your just pulling the ebrake in the rain.
Read the drifting technique section, or the Newbies section of the site.
OR watch the "Drift Bible" on youtube

well since a power slide is not really a drift my first real drift in a RWD car was my new 87 fc i got not long ago at all. in a business parking lot at night. had to only be going like 25 mph and finaly figured out to wait til the exit of the turn was in site to pin it and did and i ended up sideways for maybe 15 yards max and came out smiling. the best addiction i have ever found. =)

Single-lane on-ramp with a 4" high curb on either side and a slight upwards embankment to my left on the inside of the curve. I ended up swapping ends on that embankment and I haven't looked back.
