  • KA24DE Timing Chain Replacement

I am changing my timing chain. I am at the point were i just have to take the bottom front cover off to take the timing chain out. When i took off the sproket i marked the cams position put i forgot to mark the sproket. I have a book and it told me to set the pully to 0, but it doesnt have numbers just the nail lookin thing on the block and like little teeth on the middle pully. My question is can i just set the timing to a standard position? or what could i do so when i put the timing chain on i can have correct timing? Thanks guys.

Timing is easy, dont go by marks on the chain, go by marks on the crank pulley and the key ways on the cam gears, you set the crank to TDC, which is the second mark on the crank from the left, line it up with the "nail looking thing". Then set the cam gears to where they need to be(can't remember off the top of my head where that was anymore). The rest is in your book.
