Im not much a fan of turbo, but i still love the sound of a nice Bov, anyways lastnight some kid was talking about how his friend installed a 3.14" Bov on a eagle talon... i had no idea what he was talking about i thought he meant like the megaphone shaped thing... but then he corrected himself with 1.14"...? how are Bov's mesured? and does size really matter i thought they just let out a certian amount of pressure, dont they?

depends on how much boost your going to push. All BOV's are pretty much the same in how they function, companies just use different springs and openings to make it sound unique. your regular entry level BOV won't hold 2+ bar (close to 30 psi if I'm not mistaken) of boost. Ther're like two types a valve (imagine an engine valve and spring upside down to hold pressure in) type valve and a piston type

i liked the long sounding chachahc ahchahcahhahaaaa BOV's. what makes that unidique sound? is it the fact that some BOV's eject air into the atmosphere and others recycle the air?

I'd say it's more about the opening the the excess air is being realeased out of. It may also be the valve mechanism itself.

Unless a car is running a large amount of boost, BOV's are usually a cosmetic modification

                    With that said,

I prefer the build quality and sound of TIAL

It depends on your definition of "a large amount".
I never run under 18psi on my engines, 15 is stock, and I have been known to run 28 psi.
Even at 15 psi you can tell the difference in spool on the shifts.
