  • Beginning with SC300

Okay I'm getting a very very good deal on a manual transmission 1994 SC300, I know that isn't an ideal first drift car but it's cheap and it's there. My problem is that i won't have alot of money starting off to modify it. I'm really not sure where to even start as far parts go. I know I should cut weight because I've read it's too heavy to drift. I'm just not sure what else or even how to go about reducing weight. do I need coil overs first? should I make the engine more powerful? I'm in way over my head here and could use any advice you can give me thank you in advance

Coilovers are a must. You've already got a 2JZ engine, which is a great platform and doesn't take a lot to get power out of it. Just get some coilovers, then some cheap wheels and tires for the rear and go to some local events. After a couple practices, you'll know what you need.
