BMI Racing; From RX-8 to Ford Mustang

"Through much deliberation between Adam and Sarah Burgess and
correspondence to a variety of their sponsors, BMI Racing has made the decision to
retire the RX8 Turbo 4 Rotor and will no longer be racing with Mazda. In 2012, BMI
Racing will have Sarah Burgess piloting a new Ford Mustang with the 5.0L Coyote
Engine, and a 2.9L Whipple Supercharger.

While it was a tough choice to leave Mazda, BMI Racing feels that it has been the right
decision at the right time. With the announcement from Mazda Japan to cut production
of the RX8 and also feedback from many of our sponsors wanting to be involved with a
current model domestic car, the switch to Ford was the right move.

BMI Racing would like to introduce their newest sponsors that have come on board
including Ford Racing, Whipple Superchargers, Ignite Racing Fuels, SPEC Clutch,
FordRacingParts123.com, Weld Racing, Wiseco Pistons, K1 Technologies, Ferrea Valves,
Johnson High Tech Performance Oil Pumps, Aeromotive Fuel Pumps, ESS Eyewear, OS
Giken, Apexi, KRC Power Steering, Diversified Machine Inc, and Torco Oils and also
mention sponsors that have been with us from the start Fragola Performance Systems,
FK Rods, Gunk.com, Odyssey Batteries, Racepak, Powermasters, and Davies Craig
    Electric Water Pumps

Sarah and Adam would like to thank the fans that have supported them with the Mazda
    – “if it wasn’t for the words of encouragement and support we wouldn’t be where we
    are today.”

BMI Racing would also like to take this opportunity to thank Jim Jordan, Manager,
Alternative Marketing; Dean Case, Mazda Communications; Steve Sanders, Manager,
    MAZDASPEED Motorsports Development; and John Doonan, Director of Motorsports;
for their support and guidance while we have been a part of the Mazda family, Sven
from NRS Rotorsports, and Jeff McCall from Rotary Power USA.

Fantastic! I never liked the RX8 or rotories for the matter. Can't wait to see the full car!

^_^ maybe if you could spell rotaries correctly you could comprehend the engine theory.

LOl..You fan boys crack me up. I understand the theory just fine. Mainly can't stand the sound. That and there reliability. Hey, at least they didn't just drop an LS1 into the RX8 right? Haha!

          Nice edit

IMO the only thing better sounding then a 4 rotor is a V12 F1 chassis from the 90s.

I live eat and sleep rotary, and though a V12 sounds great, i do love the ford v8's sound a lot better. But, 5150 Cruiser, i am sure glad they used a 4 rotor in the rx8 they built.

anywho, i cant wait to see all of these cars in long beach, i wonder if its going to rain this year???

I don't think this car will be at Long Beach. Does she have a fd licence?

Ya, after thinking it over figured i'd keep the war to a minimum.

V12 F1 cars are were cool no doubt, but for me the best sound will always be carbureted big block V8's.

I guess a 4 rotor is better sounding than a 2 or 3 rotor, but still not my cup of tea.

Thanks for all the positive feedback guys, it has been great to see everyone's comments, considering how many negative comments there have been in the past with certain drivers switching from 4 cyl to V8 or switching teams etc, It's been very encouraging for us.

                    Thanks!!

In Dec 2004, I was at California Speedway for the JGTC and USA vs JAPAN event. Being so close to those JGTC cars when they fired up was amazing. I can still clearly remember how they sound.
