  • Can you drift a AUTOMATIC car???

Me and my friends are always arguing if you can drift in an automatic car! I wanted to know if any one could give a good answer thanks!

Yes but it's only cool if you're in a 4-door sedan.

Absolutely. Considering how many automatic cars you can shift these days, it is possible. Plus, all the weight transition techniques are the same. The only technique that I know you can't do is the shift lock technique since there's no clutch.

I've never been much on the proper terminology of drifting but I think you meant you can't clutch kick. I learned on an automatic with an open differential and 70hp. It's the driver and the technique that makes drifting possible.

There's nothing stopping you from being able to. It's simply a matter of application of techniques and what you can and can't do with the configuration.
