CKMedia Associates, LLC, producers of The Inside Drift, the only radio talk show in the world dedicated entirely to the professional drift racing scene has announced the guest line-up for its first month on the air beginning January 17, 2009. It’s a stellar lineup sure to entice drift fans world-wide to tune into the program on the Internet each Saturday at 10:00am PST (1:00pm EST).
A total of three world drift championships, three Formula Drift titles, and one of the most “watched” drift executives in the world are represented among the first four guests on The Inside Drift, hosted by Gary Keith, the executive producer and “voice” of The DriftZone, the official video podcast of Formula Drift since 2006.

    January 17: Rhys Millen
The new call-in talk radio show debuts on the Internet Saturday, January 17, 2009 with recently crowned Red Bull World Champion of Drifting, Rhys Millen. Millen’s appearance is particularly timely as the 2005 Formula Drift Champion and twice Pikes Peak International Hill Climb Champion recently starred on ESPN’s No Limits New Year’s Eve program attempting a full backflip of a 2800 pound desert racing truck before a national cablevision audience. While he did complete the anti-rotation, landing “wheels down”, the truck twisted in midair and landed off-line, turning unceremoniously on its side on the landing ramp.
The jump, along with his most unusual and impressive third place finish in the 2008 Formula Drift professional drift championship are sure to attract interested callers to the inaugural show on Saturday, January 17. Millen earned the podium spot though he competed in just six of the seven events during the competitive season, a remarkable achievement.

    January 24: Vaughn Gittin Jr.

If drifting has a face in America, it belongs to Vaughn Gittin Jr., one of the most popular drift figures in the world. Gittin Jr. is poised to make a serious run at the 2009 Formula Drift championship. The point man on Team Falken Tires, drifting’s most dominant team and backed by the resources of Ford Racing, Gittin Jr. will bring a brand new state-of-the-art 2010 Mustang, a purose-built drift race car, to the series beginning on the city streets of Long Beach in April.
Twice crowned the D1 Grand Prix’s World Champion (2005/2007), Gittin Jr. won his first Formula Drift event at The House of Drift, Toyota Speedway at Irwindale, CA at the 2008 season finale in October.
Gittin Jr. is one of the founders of The Drift Alliance. He and his friends and competitors, Chris Forsberg, Tony Angelo, Ryan Tuerck and a handful of young drifters known as DA’s “Aces” showcase the drift lifestyle and represent some of the most successful pro drift teams in competition today. It’s a sure bet there will be lots of callers waiting to talk to Gittin Jr. during his appearance, January 24.

    January 31: Ryan Sage

Ryan Sage is the Executive Vice President and one of the co-founders of Formula Drift, the sanctioning body for professional drifting in the United States and increasingly considered to be the preeminent professional drift racing sanctioning body in the world. In addition to his executive duties, Sage is one of the anchors of the televised coverage of the Formula Drift series on Speed Channel.
Formula Drift faces immense challenges in 2009. The anemic economy, environmental concerns, and the uncertainties of the auto industry as a whole are issues all of motorsports is forced to deal with in 2009. How Formula Drift addresses these challenges and other pressing issues are sure to be hot topics during his interview on The Inside Drift as he talks directly with callers on the program on January 31.

    February 7: Tanner Foust

In it’s first five years, Formula Drift has had only three champions, and in the last two years, just one. Tanner Foust is the only person to successfully defend a Formula Drift championship. His 2007 title was a close three way battle to the next to last round of the final event of the year at Irwindale. His final round battle with his nearest rival, Chris Forsberg is still considered by many to be one of the hardest fought tandems in Formula Drift history.
In addition to his stellar professional drift career, Foust is a regular in professional rally competition, in great demand as a stunt driver in Hollywood feature films and television commercials, and is the host of the series, Supercars on Speed Channel.
Foust will be talking with callers and the show’s host about his busy competitive schedule and his plans to step out of his reliable and twice championship winning Nissan 350z, and into a radical new version of Scion’s tC coupe in Formula Drift competition in 2009.
“Our aim from the conception of The Inside Drift was to bring to drift fans everywhere the opportunity not just to hear in-depth interviews with the biggest names and most influential personalities in professional drifting, but to interact with them personally by calling the show,” said Gary Keith, the show’s producer and host. “I think our first four guests fulfill on that goal. Each of these four outstanding individuals represents a different and vital facet of the sport and I’m really excited each has agreed to present themselves to our audience and interact directly with them.”
The Inside Drift will air live each Saturday, but each hour long program will be archived as well so the programs will be accessible on an on-demand basis at any time.
Listeners can access the live broadcast and the program archives at www.BlogTalkRadio.com/the_inside_drift or they can listen to the show on www.thedriftzone.com/liveblog.
