  • TOMMY SUELL - 3 Week FORMULA DRIFT BUILD

We acquired a sr5 shell from Nik Grieco (las Vegas), 2 weeks before Formula Drift Long Beach. Deconstruction of the original 86 occurred as soon as the damaged car arrived back from long beach.

Tommy waiting for Victor from Emergency Hookers http://www.emergencyhookers.courantcom.com/ towing to bring the car to the garage.

Tommy, Wes Dizon and Josh Guild making preparations to remove the Engine

Team Mechanic Chris Jenneret - KP Race Engineering WA flew down on Saturday April 18 at 5pm. Chris fabbed up a FD spec roll cage at John Thompsons Motorsports garage here in Las Vegas in less than 18 hours. Fully boxed and triangulated.

As Tommy has a full time job, it would have been very difficult to get the car put back together if it wasnt in Las Vegas, due to time restraints and logistics we were unable to utilize our Primary Body shop sponsor http://www.PACbodyworks.com. Shouts out to Ozzy and his staff at Pina Automotive Center!
Nick Irie and Van Vu at Spring Mountain Autobody (http://www.autobodylv.com 5701 Spring Mountain Las Vegas, NV 89146 - (702) 459-3005), had viewed the Gotcha TV Long Beach crash footage can be viewed here, and made concessions for the team to utilize his Facility. Our Friends from Hawaii - Garage Js4kix http://garagejs4kix.com - Gary, Rei, Clayton, and Gino were coming out to visit and drive at Vegasdrift011, instead drove in on 4/21/09 4 days early to lend us their high level talent and expertise.

Gino and Clayton got serious when it came to stripping 20years of grime off the firewall and interior of the shell

Rei mixing Fiberglass and Resin repairing the Rear over fenders and Front fender damage.

Tail lights and other misc exterior parts installed. Joel Mello - Mello's VIP Garage stopped by and helped get the Supra Rear end with the IS300 Kaaz diff installed, and assisted with adjusting the t3 4 link setup

As we are always working late night hours on the car, materials are sometimes hard to come by. In 2008 Kyle from GPSports / UnNatural Inc painted the ae13 a dark grey and interior lambo green and added a lot of roll cage reinforcement. (the cage totally did its job, THANKS KYLE!!) In this picture we are about to recycle sheet metal from the door bar gussets, in an effort to go green

Fuel Pump mounted on the old Cage Gusset!

                              Motor Going in

With a little bit of massaging, and 20min wet got the engine in and bolted up.
